***5 Stars***

Now things are really getting good!

It’s still all KINDS of batshit crazy, we are talking about the Kings now, but with that ending? We’re definitely about to be partying up rave style, but before we touch a tinsy bit on that I have to say this one gave me the FEELS. It did. I didn’t think it could, but it did. It was also all kinds of dark, smexy, dirty and violent and I devoured it!

While I’ve loved the first two books, I’ve admittedly been a bit...tepid in my feelings towards Madison and Bishop. It’s not that I haven’t liked them, it’s more that I needed more from them. With all the secrets and games it felt like I never got them, that they were in a void so to speak and couldn’t become more. But that has changed. This book showed me exactly who Bishop is and dear lord, I kinda adore him. And with Madi, I saw the woman she can evolve into. And their romance, while it will also be chaotic and explosive, finally settled and I really like how they keep each other on their toes and ground in a weird way.

As for the rest of the Kings, I simply want more of all of them. With the whole ‘cone of silence’ eliminated, we finally get some time with each of them and getting to see their personalities start to come out was a lot of fun. Nate, of the Kings, is still my favorite, but I’m kinda loving Brantley and Jace too. And Tatum, I love her and this girl NEEDS an HEA. She just does.

This book definitely exposes the world of the Elite Kings and I loved learning all about it. Is it crazy and over the top? Yes. Yes it is. But that’s what makes it so much fun to read. There are definitely a bunch of twists I didn’t see coming, like a shit ton of them, and all I can say is that I really need that next book like yesterday...but will do my best to be as patient as possible.

***5 ‘Secrets’ Stars***

Can we say ‘Hello, Mind Fuck’???

Anyone? Anyone?

I’m serious. This book takes you all over the place, and though there are some things that you KNOW, there is more you don’t know. Or at least don’t know how they fit into the big picture. This happens a lot, not only with the mystery of just what the hell is going, but with the characters. Especially, the characters.

Now, if you’ve even glanced at one of my reviews, you’ll know I have a set way of doing things, but here...nope. Won’t be happening because I’m all over the place with this one and way too many thoughts on everything are swirling around in my head. The characters, all the characters, intrigue, fascinate and even disgust me in equal measure in their actions and the games they play. Even Madison, whom I probably have the most empathy for ~ at the moment anyways ~ isn’t necessarily someone I can say I truly like and yet I don’t not like her. And Bishop? I wouldn’t say I empathize with him, but I definitely want more of him.

But that’s the crux here isn’t it? You can’t help but continue to turn the pages because all the secrecy is driving you batshit crazy and you NEED to know what will happen next and after that ending I am definitely happy that I don’t have to wait for the next book, because yours truly may have been just upset enough to have tossed the Kindle into the freezer.

"I thought I knew who I was, but I was wrong.”

The Silver Swan

- 1. A girl who is tarnished. Tainted. One who does not fit into the confinement of legend.

The Silver Swan

-2. Madison Montgomery.

I was lied to.

I was cheated.

Resigned to pick up the scraps of empty memories and disarrayed thoughts, I left. After finally cutting the strings of manipulation, I resorted to do what I’ve done since I was a child, something my father drilled into my brain since I could handle my first rifle.

Run.

I’m a mere shadow of the girl they all knew.

Lies and deceit change you. They alter your entire outlook on life.

I’m Madison Montgomery, and I want to play a game.

Here’s what happens when I win.

Riddle me this, Mads.

What goes bump in the night,

but is something you can’t see with sight?

You may run, and you may hide.

If by happily ever after, you mean Bonnie & Clyde.

***5 ‘Trust No One. Fear No One. Fuck Everyone’ Stars***

While the mind fuck is still in full effect (Anyone surprised?? No, didn’t think so.) I have to say that this one was a little more...even keel for me. I know that sounds strange considering everything, but things seemed to not be so damn erratic, or at least Madison didn’t feel that way to me, for most of the book. There are still a shit ton of secrets and things left unsaid, as well as more mysterious stuff going on, but I dug it. It kept me turning the pages instead of wanting to toss my Kindle in the freezer.

As for the characters. I’m still in that weird zone with all of them where they fascinate me more than anything else. Madison is sitting on a 70/30 split of liking and not not liking (I know, just go with it) Bishop he’s all kinds of Beastie still, and always will be if I’m honest, but I’m starting to dig him. But Nate has jumped up in my estimations of him, still gots issues, but I’m good. And Tatum, it’s hard not to like her. She may be the one person thus far that I can say I like, but then again she’s on the outskirts of everything.

There is still all kinds of dark, dirty and smexy going on and more questions than answers but I’m okay with that, especially with the new things that have been brought out into the open about this crazy world. Though these new details have brought about more questions, the also make things more interesting and I cannot wait to see what chaos the new developments at the end of this book will bring about in Tacet a Mortuis!
