I’m sure that you are going to read something like this from anyone that read Ghost ~ I couldn’t wait to get all the dirty deets and the whole Cage lying to Jamie thing ~ because it was apart of what helped to make Malik and Anna’s book enjoyable and boy, lemme tell you, it was an experience. A fun, sweet, smexy and eye rolling experience as the lie grew as their own feelings grew for each other.
I loved Jamie. This woman is sweet, sassy, compassionate and strong. She loves hard and gives her all to her people, even when they may not deserve it. I have to be honest, I loved Cage. He is a good man that has all the good things when it comes to being an alpha AF male, but heaven help me ~ I wanted to Gibbs smack him throughout the entire book.
So, their journey. While Cage frustrated me to no end with his refusal to come clean to Jaime, I cannot deny that I loved them together. From their first collision and all the way through to the end, they just worked for me. Their bantering was on point, their chemistry intense and despite that little (big) lie, they really got to know each other and liked who the other person was down to their marrow. Now, as for how the lie was exposed and the aftermath...the way Cage got “caught” was definitely one for the books. The grovelling and subsequent HEA. I’m good with the HEA, but I’ve been waffling about the grovelling. There is apart of me that was impressed with how Cage went about things, but the other side wanted more. Then there is Jamie. I loved how she handled it, but I kinda wanted her to make him work harder. It’s a toss up and I will probably never settle on one side, but I’m happy they are together.
This was another great addition to the series. I loved getting to hang out with the JFS crew that was around and catching up with the ones I’ve already gotten to know and love and getting to the others better. There was a little tease of a possible couple in the making (C & C) and this one is looking to be quite intense, so all I can say is...bring on the next book!
