~**~ Release Blitz for Buckled (Trails of Sin #2) by Pam Godwin w/ Review ~**~

***5 ‘Your Forever Is Mine’ Stars***

After finishing Knotted, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Buckled.

I wanted to get to know Jarrett a lot better and see where this whole cray cray thing going on with his dad would take us next and I must admit I loved it. I was surprised by a few things, but I loved it! It was just as kinky smexy as Knotted, but the tone was definitely on the lighter side, but the angsty-ness got kicked up a few notches in this baby, but it was all worth it in the end ~ especially with that little plot twist thrown into the mix.

I loved Jarret and Maybe. Jarret may have done some very questionable things which he is not sorry for regardless, but they were done in the name of protecting those he loves. He is loyal, honorable and really good with his hands and can read people extremely well. There is also a sweetness to him that comes out to play that makes it easy to fall for him. Maybe has moxie, there is no doubt about that. When she goes all in, she goes all in. Feisty, sassy and definitely not afraid to speak her mind, she is a force to be reckoned with.

Jarret and Maybe’s journey was quite interesting, but I really enjoyed it. For those wondering, it is not like Jake and Conor’s journey. It is much less dark, but the kinky smexy times are still just as HAWT. I loved how they, despite the secrets they were keeping from each other, got to know who the other was down to their bare bones. There was no pretense, no unspoken head games. It was two people being who they were. Now as for the big “secrets”, one of which had me like “Whoa”, when they were finally exposed the angst grew exponentially and while I absolutely understood the fall out from it,  I still got all kinds of growly and almost tossed the Kindle into the freezer. But, I didn’t and I have to say that how they got back on track was pretty interesting and I’m happy with where they were at when the book ended.

As I’ve said a few times, this book has a very different tone that Knotted and I personally found it refreshing. There are still the dark moments and the knowledge that there is still a threat to them all out there, but I liked how the author mixed it up. I loved hanging out with Jake and Conor and seeing how they were doing and the little bit of Lorne we got has me wanting Booted right now, especially with the way things ended because it looks like things are about to get a little more craycray.

Note: These books are not standalones and must be read in order.

I protect what’s mine.

The ranch, my family, our buried secrets.

Nothing will stop me from reassembling the life that went terribly wrong.

Not the law.

Not our enemies.

Not even Maybe Quinn.

The gorgeous, quarrelsome journalist shouldn’t have meddled.

I shouldn’t have let her stay.

But she’s hiding something in those deceptive blue eyes.

Something deeper than her thirst for a news story.

I make a deal with her to buy time.

To unravel her lies. To play with her. To satisfy my darker appetites.

When she buckles beneath my belt, I’ll send her away.
