Four Day Fling, an all-new hilarious and romantic standalone from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Emma Hart is available NOW!
Imagine this.
Youāre ready to leave after a one-night stand, and youāre figuring out how toāshock horrorāleave your number and ask him to be your fake boyfriend for your sisterās wedding this weekend.
When he wakes up.
Well, that happened to me. And over coffee and omelets, I found myself a date.
Which was how I ended up arriving at the wedding with a guy I knew nothing about.
I didnāt know his last name, or how we met, or how long weād been dating. I didnāt know where he grew up, what heād majored in in college, or how many siblings he had.
I sure as hell didnāt know he was Adam Winters, hotshot hockey player, and not only my fatherās favorite player, but my little nephewās freakinā idol.
Which means Iām in trouble. Big, big trouble.
My mother is suspicious, my sister is bridezilla on crack, and my grandpa will tell anyone whoāll listen about his time in Amsterdamās Red Light District.
Four days.
I have to keep this up for four days, and then Adam and I can return to our regular lives, where we donāt have sex whenever weāre alone, and my family arenāt interrogating him over his intentions with me.
At least, thatās the plan.
And we all know what happens to those.

āReady?ā Adam strolled out of the bedroom, playing with the button on his shorts.
āFor lunch with my mother?ā I turned and stared at him, expressionless. āIām thrilled.ā
He laughed and adjusted the short sleeve of his white shirt. āItās whatāan hour? Then sheāll be back snapping at your sisterās ankles. Surely you can give Rosie a break for sixty whole minutes.ā
āOh no. Iāve done that guilt trip my entire life. Iām not getting it from my fake boyfriend, too.ā I waggled my finger at him before turning back to the mirror to finish my make-up. āAnd yes, I can give her a break, but it doesnāt mean I need to be happy about it.ā
āDo you ever get along?ā
āYes. When Iām in Orlando and sheās in Key West.ā
āI mean when youāre together.ā
āIn the same room together, or having a conversation together?ā
āNow youāre just being awkward, Red.ā
I brushed a final stroke of mascara over each of my eyes, then stopped, wand in hand, and met his eyes in the reflection of the mirror. āGiven how you ended up here, I would have thought you knew that awkward was my default mode.ā
āThat was cute-awkward. This is attitude-awkward.ā
āHow do you know thereās a difference?ā
He pointed at himself. āFour sisters. I grew up with attitude-awkward. I could recognize it blindfolded with hands cuffed behind my back from two hundred miles away.ā
āWow. Someoneās cocky.ā
āI thought we established that the night we met.ā
My cheeks flushed. Damn it. Why did I have to blush like an idiot? Oh, thatās right. I was a redhead and so pale I was a distant relative of Casper the Friendly Ghost, which meant you could see my blushing a mile off.
āYouāre adorable when you blush.ā Adam grinned.
āThank God,ā I drawled. āThat was my life goal. Be adorable. Now, I can get it in neon lights over my bed.ā
***5 āNot Today, Satanā Stars***
This was such a fun, smexy read!
I found myself laughing out loud, sometimes with simultaneously cringing, at the snarky and antics of the various unique and colorful characters and falling in love with Poppy and Adam as they found that the āfakeā in their relationship wasnāt as fake as theyād thought it would be.
Poppy is a force to be reckoned with. With little, to no edit button, she lets you know exactly how she feels whether it be verbal or not. Sheās snarky and stubborn and has a tendency to appear put out when dealing with certain people, but beneath all of that is a heart that cares, and cares deeply whether she admits it or not.
Adam was such a sweetheart, and I know that for some that description lands right next to being called a ānice guyā on the continuum, but he really is. I loved his honesty and how he rolled with the punches, because there were A LOT of them, as if they were normal. He has a laid back kind of alpha thing going on with his determination and honesty and his charm was absolutely lethal.
Poppy and Adamās āfakeā relationship was so much fun. It really was. It was sweet, smexy and was low on angsty drama, though it had a few touches here and there that not only touched my heart but had me growling a little in frustration a time or two. The connection between Poppy and Adam definitely went against the āfakeā issues and I loved how honest they were with each other. Their bantering was fun and the smexy was HAWT and I loved where we left them in the end.
Iām a broken record but...this was a fun and easy to devour read. I obviously adored Poppy and Adam, but along with them, I ended up adoring the very well written and colorful cast of characters. They all kept me on my toes and had me cracking up with their antics while brining that family dynamic I love so much to vibrant, HD life. I canāt say I have an ultimate favorite, but grandpa and Rosie are definitely at the top of the list.
So, if youāre looking for a low angsty read with a cast of great characters and a lot of heart, then this is a must read!
