~**~ ARC Review: Not My Romeo (The Game Changers #1) by Ilsa Madden-Mills ~**~

***4 ‘I’m Basically a Teenage Girl’ Stars***

This was a great start to a new series.  It’s a fun, cute, awkward kinda read with a lot of heart and filled with a bunch of characters I’m crossing my toes we’ll see lots and lots more of as the series progresses ~ both of the two legged and four legged variety.

I loved Elena and Jack, they put me and themselves through the ringer, but I still loved them. Elena is that mix of awkward and confident that makes her extremely likeable and relatable. She’s sweet, sassy and though she has her insecurities, she also has this sense of self that I really liked. Jack is all kinds of sweet and charming, he really is, but his past has left some pretty deep wounds and it causes him to erect walls that makes it hard for others to get close, but also blinds him to quite a lot going on around him.

Their journey to their HEA was a lot of fun. They both had me growling at various times throughout the book for some of their choices, but I still wanted them to get their shit together because I really liked them together. When they were just chill and being, they had this flow that was all kinds of sweet and swoony and even quite adorkable ~ sickeningly adorkable. But their own personal issues and outside factors kept getting in the way. While the big ‘ol roadblock wasn’t a surprise, and I got why Jack felt the way he did, I was totally Team Elena, and though I would have liked a bit more groveling, I did like how Jack ended up getting her back.

This was simply a fun, sweet, smexy character driven romance that hooked me front the start. The supporting cast of characters were all well written. I loved Devon, Quinn and even Aiden. Aunt Clara was awesome and Romeo was just too cute! I’m iffy about Lawrence and curious about Giselle, but Topher was my hands down fav and I’m looking forward to spending a lot more time with all these characters!

Wall Street Journal bestselling author Ilsa Madden-Mills delivers a smart and sexy romance about a professional football hottie and the small-town girl he can’t resist.

We start off with a lie on Valentine’s Day.

My blind date isn’t the studious guy I expected. Nope, he’s a drop-dead gorgeous player with sinful amber eyes and a killer body. Somehow we end up at his penthouse. I blame the gin and tonic.

The next day I learn he’s Jack Hawke—bad-boy professional quarterback with a murky past.

The NDA he had me sign should have been a warning that he isn’t a regular person. Please. I signed it Juliet Capulet, so goodbye, famous football player with abs of steel, and good luck tracking down this small-town librarian.

But Jack keeps showing up in places I least expect him. Just when I’m sure he’s gone, he waltzes into my community theater and wins the part of Romeo to my Juliet.

How’s a plain, mostly innocent girl like me supposed to resist a man like him?

Is Jack my real Romeo…or will this gorgeous football player only break my heart?
