Weights of Wrath, an all-new surprise pregnancy romantic comedy from M.E. Carter, is now available in Kindle Unlimited!

Rosalind Palmer was blessed with the perfect stage name. Or so sheās been told. There are just a few problems with it:
1) Her family doesnāt know sheās a stripper
2) Sheād like to keep it that way
3) She got over the nickname somewhere around seventh grade.
Unfortunatelyābecause she likes her job and she really likes her independenceāher unexpected pregnancy means Rosalindās days on a pole are numbered. Even so, she's determined to make this co-parenting thing work.
Joey Marshall never thought much about having kids until he got the text announcing his impending fatherhood. Now itās all he can think about. But there are a few concerns:
1) He doesn't know anything about babies.
2) Adulting usually leads to disaster.
3) Itās his best friendās cousin he knocked up.
First things first, making sure his babyās mama is in this for the long haul. Because now he's got baby on the brain, he can't wait to make this co-parenting thing into so much more.
Now all he has to do is convince Rosalind, which shouldn't be too hard . . . right?

***5 Stars***
I freakinā ADORED this book!
I didnāt expect to, I mean, I figured Iād end up loving it because Iāve loved the other books in the series by the author, but holy hell, I was a goner from the first chapter and I NEED more of Joey and Rosalind...itās really that simple.
Now the reason I didnāt expect to adore this book was because of Joey. In previous books I kinda sorta wanted to throttle the man a time or two, and there were still a couple of moments in this one where that feeling popped up, but to put it simply ~ he is on the laminated book boyfriend list. He hit ALL the right buttons. As for Rosalind. I adored her snark and drive. This woman definitely made her life her own and I couldnāt help but admire her. She has her quirks and her walls, but the funny thing is that I got it. I got why she felt the way she did, why she did or didnāt do things. I just got her.
As for their journey, it was simply a lot of fun to experience. They are opposites in a lot of ways, but they worked. They truly saw who the other person was and genuinely liked who that person was ~ the good, the crazy, the snarky and the unedited ~ and in the end, I absolutely loved them together.
This really was such a fun read. The angst was on the low end, which I really liked because the whole surprise baby trope can get angsty, and I just liked how everything played out. I loved catching up with Elliott and Abel and the girls. The ladies at the gym were hilarious, Rosalindās family were awesome and I loved what Stan and Nicolas brought to the story. I have no clue who is up next on the chopping block for the series, but I do hope that Joey and Rosalind pop up because I will NEED updates!

Audiobook: Coming later this year!
My door opens quietly, and I immediately sit up, knowing thereās only one person it could be.
āRosalind? Are you okay?ā
Seeing me awake, she quickly slips in and shuts the door behind her. Her long legs are bare, ass barely hidden by an oversized t-shirt thatās sliding off one shoulder. Her hair is pulled up so I can see the gracefulness of her neck. She looks beautiful in the moonlight and I canāt help wondering if this is a good time to finally kiss her again.
But no. We need to build a solid relationship. I donāt want to pressure her into anything sheās not ready for.
Gliding up to my bed, she pulls the covers back. āMove over.ā
āWhat?ā Okay, I donāt think sheās ready for anything sexual, but now Iām not so sure.
She sighs sounding as exhausted as my body feels. āMy bed is uncomfortable. And my room has shitty ventilation. I am the baby mama. Move over.ā
āIsnāt it the same bed youāve been sleeping on for years? Suddenly, itās uncomfortable?ā I poke playfully. Really I donāt mind her being in here. I just canāt resist the chance to see the fire in her eyes.
āI donāt make my body hurt,ā she retorts as she slides under the sheets. āI just try to accommodate whatever it wants right now.ā
Admittedly, sheās not wrong. I got a preview of her mattress when I flopped down on it after moving it up two flights of stairs. It is pretty shitty. āOkay.ā I move out of the middle and onto the far side of the bed as she moans her appreciation for a quality pillowtop. I may not be domestic at all, but a man knows the benefit of a good nightās sleep after a hard day at the gym. Still, Iām not positive of her intentions, and sheās been staring in my dreams for weeks now, so I need to clear something up.
āDoes this mean we get to have sex now?ā
Rosalind snorts a laugh and punches the pillow as she settles in. āNo.ā
āWhat? Youāre moving into my bed, and I donāt get any of the benefits?ā I joke back.
āYou get the benefit of my presence and knowing your baby and I are both getting a good nightās rest.ā
Sheās got me there. At this point, their safety and well-being are my biggest priorities. I suddenly understand why Abel is such a worry wart when I babysit.
Donāt give her too much sugar, Joey.
Donāt let her stay up too late, Joey.
Donāt burn the house down trying to cook spaghetti, Joey.
One time. It was one time that I blew up the spaghetti pot.
I make a quick mental note never to make spaghetti around my child.
āHey, Rosalind?ā I clasp my hands behind my head, staring up at the ceiling again.
āHmm.ā
āAre you nervous?ā
She takes a deep breath, and I get the feeling sheās been up all night, wrestling with her thoughts, too. āAbout which part?ā
āI thinkā¦ maybe, all of it?ā
Rosalind rolls over, putting her hands under her cheek as she stares me dead in the eye. āIām terrified. What if Iām not cut out for this, Joey?ā
āWhat do you mean? I saw you with Mabel and Ainsley at Thanksgiving. They love you. Youāre a natural with kids.ā
āMabel and Ainsley are easy,ā she retorts. āI smile and laugh and talk to them like real people. I donāt have to keep them alive. I donāt know how to keep a baby alive.ā
Shit. Sheās right. āNeither do I.ā
We lie there some more, lost in our own thoughts again. Iām so excited to become a dad and Iām equally as terrified, which is such a weird feeling. There is so much that can go wrong. So much I donāt know how to do yet. So much to expect that I havenāt even thought of. Babysitting Mabel and Ainsley is easy. Pop in a Wii game and let them go nuts. But a baby? Thatās a whole different thing Iāve never done before.

About M.E. Carter
My name is M.E. Carter and I have no idea how I ended up writing books. Iām more of a story teller (the more exaggerated the better) and I happen to know people who helped me get those stories on paper. I love reading (read almost 200 books last year), hate working out (but I do it anyway because my trainer makes me), love food (but hate what it does to my butt) and love traveling to non-touristy places most people never see. I live in Houston with my four kids, Mary, Elizabeth, Carter and Bug, who was just a twinkle in my eye when I came up with my pen name. Yeah, Iāll probably have to pay for his therapy someday for being left out.
