About Me

11/9/17

I suppose I should put something down in this space since changes are coming and going another year with "Under construction" just doesn't seem right, so...

The nitty gritty:

I'm a born and raised Hawaii girl who now resides in Western Washington.
Yes, I know...how could I go from all that sun to the nine months of rainy grey?
College was the catalyst and in all honesty, I love living in the PNW. The vibe is real similar to Hawaii's. There is a huge Hawaiian community here, so when I need a fix I can get it. And there is a lot of wine.
I am a wino (hence the name of the blog). I am a member at many wineries and love taking friends and family wine tasting when I can.
I'm also a foodie. I'm always down to trying something new as well as cooking up a storm. I've done up nine course Chinese dinners (I am part Chinese) as well as a saffron shrimp risotto that my friends request for special occasions.

As for the whole book/reading/reviewing thing.
I know many say this, but I have always been a reader.
My mother told me once that punishing me (which didn't happen often) by taking away the T.V. and sending me to my room was pointless because I'd just pick up a book and call it good.
As you can see 98% of what I read falls under the romance genre and all it's various and varied sub-genres. The contemporary category holds the most content, but I never limit myself and if something peaks my interest I'll give it a go. But I do dabble outside the genre, have since I was young, so you'll see some Sci-Fi and Fantasy as well as Mystery/Suspense appear from time to time.

Here are some of the books that I read as a teenager whose covers ended up in less than stellar condition due to how many re-reads I did

Hearts Aflame by Johanna Lindsey
Gentle Rogue by Johanna Lindsey
The Pirate and The Pagan by Virginia Henley
No One Here Gets Out Alive by Danny Sugerman
The Witching Hour by Anne Rice
Queen of the Damned by Anne Rice
The Oracle Glass by Judith Merkle Riley
Silent Partner by Jonathan Kellerman

I think that's a pretty decent start. I'll probably mess with this as time goes on, but that's me in a nutshell.
