***4 ‘They Created the Monster and Then Asked Why I Bite’ Stars*** I swear this woman does my head, and heart in, and yet, I keep coming back for more. ***5 ‘Arugula’ Stars*** I have to say, if I hadn’t already been making grabby hands at this book, the opening line of the description would have hooked me because I totally get being bad at peopling ~ most will say I’m not, but sometimes peopling doesn’t go all that well ~ and I thoroughly enjoyed adorable awkwardness of Isadora as she collided with the charming and determined Devraj, as well as all the hijinks that always seems to surround the Savoie sisters and anyone who happens to find themselves in their orbit. I adored Isadora and Devraj. Izzy is an introvert and shy and can be awkward in certain situations where any sort of peopling occurs, but she also has this inner strength that comes out when she feels strongly about something ~ whether it be about people or animals ~ and I couldn’t help but love watching her stubborn side come out to play. ***4 Stars*** Historical romance isn’t something I tend to be drawn to, at least not in recent years, but sometimes one pops up and my curiosity is peaked, or in this case, the author kept popping up on various sites and seeing that this was a first in series, I decided to give it a go and I gotta say, I really enjoyed it spending time in the Highlands and learning all about the Ludus Caledonia. I loved Lor and Isabail. Lor is a sweetheart. I’m not sure if he’d be alright with that description, but he is.  He is also a hard worker and once he gets his barings, he is a force to be reckoned with. Isabail is fierce. She isn’t a meek, stay at home type of woman. She is independent and honest and has no problem speaking her mind.  Their journey to their HEA as, at it’s heart, a sweet one despite the circumstances surrounding them. I loved how they balanced each other out and how they simply liked the other for exactly who they were, not who they thought they should be. This was a fun read.
