***4 Stars*** Historical romance isn’t something I tend to be drawn to, at least not in recent years, but sometimes one pops up and my curiosity is peaked, or in this case, the author kept popping up on various sites and seeing that this was a first in series, I decided to give it a go and I gotta say, I really enjoyed it spending time in the Highlands and learning all about the Ludus Caledonia. I loved Lor and Isabail. Lor is a sweetheart. I’m not sure if he’d be alright with that description, but he is. He is also a hard worker and once he gets his barings, he is a force to be reckoned with. Isabail is fierce. She isn’t a meek, stay at home type of woman. She is independent and honest and has no problem speaking her mind. Their journey to their HEA as, at it’s heart, a sweet one despite the circumstances surrounding them.
