Updated rating:  ***5 Stars*** Soulfire was the first book I ever read by the author and the one that turned me all kinds of fangirl because I not only got caught up in the HEA of the characters, but fell in love with the world in which they lived. So, when it was announced that she got the rights back for the book and was going to be doing a little tweaking of the book before re-issuing it, I was both excited and anxious. Excited because I was thrilled for the author and was looking forward to seeing if I could pick out the changes (even though it has been 4 years since I picked it up) but anxious because, what if I didn’t love the book as much as the first time I read it. Thankfully, the anxiety was washed away as soon as I read the prologue and found that I loved the story more the second time around. ***5 ‘Stepping Stones’ Stars*** Truth #1: Technically there should be two separate reviews going up, and I had planned on doing that, but when you have book one and two on the Kindle at the same time and stopping to review book one before starting book two becomes physically impossible...well, you just let it ride. ***5 ‘Like the Stars’ Stars*** “I love the smell of sex and brimstone in the morning.” When THAT *Pointing up* is the opening line to a book by an author you already #fangirl over you KNOW that you’re in for one hell of a ride and what a ride it was! It was a fun, quick read that was all kinds of sweet and smexy with just the right amount of drama tossed in to keep things interesting and a whole new slew of characters I want to get to know better! Dommiel is a self professed fiend, but he’s one I’d have at my back (and other places) without question. He may have engaged in every delectable and deviant pleasure known, and unknown to man, and done unspeakable things because he could, but his black heart is not as black as he wants to believe. ***4 Stars*** This is definitely a naughty short story and I loved it! I mean it had it all ~ smexyness (LOTS of smexyness) a good dose of humor and heart. This may be a short, but this baby definitely packed a punch. I really liked Lily and my heart hurt for her with all that she dealing with. She is at the end of her emotional rope and despite the chaos inside her, still loves her husband and doesn’t want to leave him. Chris...well, it was hard to like him, empathize? Yes. Like...it took a while to get there, but once he pulled his head out of his butt, the man was all kinds of goodness. Watching as they found their way back to each other definitely brought out all the feels because despite it all, they loved each other and I have to say where they are at the end is all kinds of satisfying (and HAWT!). ***4 ‘Villain’ Stars*** This was definitely quick and all kinds of dirty goodness with a good dose of heart and characters that kept things interesting as I kept turning the pages to find out what would happen next. Miles is all kinds of dominate, smexy, growly alpha male with a good heart ~ which of course makes him that much more alluring. Olivia, I won’t say she’s a mature 18 year old because she does a couple of things that had me doing the heavy sigh/shaking of the head thing, but she does know what she wants and doesn’t waffle over her decisions. Their journey is somewhat predictable, but it was still a fun and oh so panty destroying one. While there was the whole experienced vs inexperienced thing going on, they were actually well matched in their stubborness and what they wanted, not only for themselves but from each other. ***5 ‘Insufferable’ Stars*** Taboo Treat? Um yeah and one I absolutely DEVOURED! I started it at the beginning of my lunch hour and I went just a tinsy bit over by doing the whole “Oh it’s just two more chapters” because there was no way I was going to even attempt to pretend to put it down when I knew I was going to pick it right back up. It was a little dirty, a little smutty, hella smexy and had just enough heart thrown in there to make it absolutely addicting. Without spoiling anything, which does include using the names of the characters (unfortunately), I have to say I really enjoyed this May/December story because unless the age gap was brought up by the MC’s I tended to forget that there was one because the chemistry between them was hot and once things really started revving up, there was a flow to their budding relationship that just worked for me and had me wanting them to be together in the end and flip the double bird to all the haters. ***5 ‘Rough and Smooth’ Stars*** That’s exactly what Elliott Redeemed was, rough and smooth, sweet and smexy and heart breaking while making my heart all kinds of wonky and twitterpated. It had it all and then some. From page one I was totally immersed into the story, and even when I had to take a moment to process all that was going on, I couldn’t wait to dive back in and see how everything worked out for Elliott, Kendalee and Daniel and in the end, it was all worth it. It’s no secret that I’ve loved all of Scarlett Cole’s men, but Elliott has just shot his way past all of them. Even with all of the demons that plague, and believe me he’s got a lot to battle, his heart is absolutely golden. He’s got an interesting alpha AF thing going on, but it’s a little different than the norm and totally works in his favor. I totally admired Kendalee. ***5 ‘Waiting For It’s Other Half’ Stars*** My journey with the Kavanagh Legends series has had it’s ups and downs, but from the start I adored the Kavanagh family dynamic and that’s what has kept me coming back for more, regardless of which member of the family is up on the chopping block. But Chasing a Legend finally did what the previous ones couldn’t. It gave me my hit of the family and all the crazy goodness that comes with them (which included a few moments where I had to do the fast blinking, looking up at the ceiling to not cry and ruin my make-up since I was work thing), but a couple that I ended up adoring. There were moments where I wanted to Gibbs smack them both, but I really loved their journey.
