~**~ ARC Review: Trusting Skylar (Silverstone #1) by Susan Stoker ~**~

***5 Stars*** I have to admit that when I started this book I was a bit worried that it would fall into the “it’s not you, it’s me category” because it just wasn’t grabbing hold of my attention, but I kept going and thankfully my worry was blown away. I ended up loving and adoring Molly and Smoke. They definitely met under the worst of circumstances but I ended up loving watching as they became everything to each other and more. I adored Molly and Smoke. Molly is an amalgamation of strength and vulnerability that made it easy to not only like her, but to see her become more than she thought she could be. Smoke aka Mark is protective, generous and honest. He may not think he’s built to be in a romantic relationship, but he does know how to love those he calls his own. Their journey to their HEA was definitely a unique one in all ways, but I thoroughly enjoyed watching them get to know each other and find that the attraction was mutual and that they fit in each other's lives better t...

~**~ ARC Review: Trusting Skylar (Silverstone #1) by Susan Stoker ~**~

***4 Stars*** I always look forward to diving into a book by this author because I’m pretty much guaranteed to have a good time while reading it and this time was no different. It was a fun, quick read with just enough drama to keep things interesting and a new group of characters that I want to get know a lot better. I loved Carson and Skylar. Carson is a straight shooting, protective AF alpha male with a really good heart. He may be jaded, considering all that he’s experienced, but he still looks for the good in the world. Skylar is sweet, sassy and just a bit naive when it comes to how she tends to view people, but she isn’t blind to the good and bad in the world around her. I loved that she truly did see the good in people and that she could hold her own when necessary. Their journey to their HEA was a lot of fun. They were definitely opposites, but they had the same drive to protect the good in the world ~ even if it was by different means. I loved how they first met and how they ...

~**~ ARC Review: Defending Harlow (Mountain Mercenaries #4) by Susan Stoker ~**~

***5 Stars*** Susan Stoker hit all the right buttons again with this baby. Fun, sweet, swoon worthy read, with a lot of heart and a good dose of suspense to keep things interesting and bring out the best, and worst, in all the characters making me want to spend a lot more time with all of them. I adored Black/Lowell & Harlow.  Black is all kinds of honest, protective and loyal, but also a little sneaky when necessary. What I really liked about him was that when he got something wrong he owned up to it, no excuses given, and worked to never to do it again Harlow has a huge, generous heart that gave selflessly, even though it was quite battered, and had the type of confidence that drew you in. Also her being a chef and loving to cook was a huge bonus Their journey to their HEA was sweet, fun and smexy, but also a bit frustrating as they - well, mostly Harlow - tried to avoid what was going on right in front their noses. Thankfully, Black was all kinds of sneaky goodne...

~**~ ARC Review: Defending Morgan (Mountain Mercenaries #3) by Susan Stoker ~**~

***5 Stars*** And we have another great addition to the series! Not that I really doubted that would be the case, but sometimes it just needs to be put out into the world. I was hooked from the very start and was totally into seeing Arrow and Morgan not only get their HEA , but finding out just who was behind Morgan’s kidnapping and when it was finally revealed...let’s just say I didn’t really see that one coming at all. I adored Arrow. This man is all kinds of goodness right down to his DNA. I loved how honest he was, not only with others, but himself because once he chose a path, he stuck to it. Morgan blew me away. She had endured hell and could have very well succumbed to cynicism and despair, but instead clung to hope and held on to the knowledge that she would get out of her situation alive and be reunited with her loved ones. I really enjoyed their journey to their HEA. The connection was definitely insta, but it worked for me because of how honest and sincere Arrow ...

~**~ ARC Review: Defending Chloe (Mountain Mercenaries #2) by Susan Stoker ~**~

***4.5 Stars*** Can I have Ronan? Or at least someone kindasortaexactly like him? (No accent isn’t a deal breaker, but will garner more points if there is one) The swoons and head shakes were real with with this one, but that didn’t surprise me at all. These books, all of the authors books ~ not just this series ~ are filled with characters that I find it so easy fall in love with, even if they drive a little batshit crazy at times, but they always suck me in to the story and never want to say goodbye. Ok. I ADORED Ronan (if that wasn’t already obvious). The man is all kinds of alpha AF and has honor branded on his soul. But what endeared him to me was how he could reign himself in, take stock of the situation as a whole and do what was best instead of what he thought was best. Chloe. This woman is a fighter. She’s had her world turned upside down and has been put through hell and yet she’s come out of it with her spirit in tact. It’s a little bruised and battered, but sh...

~**~ ARC Review: Defending Allye (Mountain Mercenaries #1) by Susan Stoker ~**~

***5 ‘Karma’ Stars*** Great start to a new series! Not that I’m all that surprised, but it still needed to be said. Defending Allye has all the things that I’ve come of love and enjoyed from a Susan Stoker book. Well written characters, a great family dynamic a good dose of smexyness and a mystery/suspense storyline that keeps me on my toes and turning the pages until the very end. I adored Gray and Allye. Gray is all kinds of honorable, protective alpha AF male with a heart. He found a purpose, had it ripped away in the worst possible way, but put him in a bit of a spiral for, but he worked his way out of it and has found another purpose that appeals to his protective, get it done nature. Allye has not has an easy life and it’s caused her to put up a ton of walls around her, but it’s also made her into a strong woman who knows her own mind and isn’t afraid of working hard to achieve her goals. I loved Allye’s strength and how her heart hadn’t turned cold because of what she...

~**~ ARC Review: Shelter for Blythe (Badge of Honor: Texas Heroes #11) by Susan Stoker ~**~

***5 Stars*** All. The. Feels. Not that I expected any less, I really didn’t, but Blythe and Sawyer seemed to make my heart swoon and break so many times throughout this book that I lost count, and that doesn’t even take into account the rest of the BoHTH crew and how they all rally in this one. This book was pretty much everything. I adored both Blythe and Sawyer aka Squirrel. Blythe is strong, intelligent and despite all that she has gone through still has a heart of gold. After finding out all that she had been through I couldn’t help but admire the woman and loved watching as she worked through a whole myriad of issues to get back on her feet and take her future by the horns. Sawyer was all kinds of nummyness. He’s got that alpha AF thing going on and yet is man enough to know when to step to the side and not dictate on how one should do things, even when it drives him batshit crazy. He also has a few...insecurities that made it all at once easy to connect with him, eve...
