***5 Stars*** It’s been a minute since I read Birdy, but I freakin’ loved it, so when life happened for the author and the voices just weren’t playing nice and Arcangel kept getting pushed back, I was disappointed, but fully understood and knew that things would all work out in the end. And they have, in a big way. While I will admit that I didn’t go back and read Birdy, nor did I look at my review for the book, as I was reading I “remembered” things and can honestly say that I did feel like I had a better understanding of Bennie, Angel and Andres…at least at this moment in time as this is only book 1 of what is now a trilogy. But it’s hard to not love Bennie. We get to see her at her lowest, but also at her most fierce and she is truly a force. As for Angel and Andres…for me, on the surface, they are night and day, but they have their own “gray” areas that call to me for various reasons. What does that mean? Simple. I don’t have a ‘team’ other than Team Birdy, Bennie, La Jefa…take you...
