~**~ ARC Review: Academy of Magic (Dragon’s Gift: The Valkyrie #2) by Linsey Hall ~**~

***3.5 Stars*** This is the second installment of Bree’s journey into figuring out what kind of Unknown she is while navigating her way through her new life as a trainee for the Undercover Protectorate and while I thoroughly enjoyed the first chapter to her story, I struggled with this one. I just couldn’t get lost in the story and that made things drag a bit for me. The details of the new places we got to explore with Bree and the new characters we met along the way, were all well written and there are a couple of characters I hope we come across again like Emrys and Melusine and even Rocky, but the hook just wasn’t there for me this time around. Even though it took be a bit longer to finish the book, I will say that I liked how everything with the curse and the type of Unknown that Bree is was woven together and played out. I’m quite interested to learn more details as to what Bree is, how her new knowledge of what she is and newly acquired powers will shape her and the trial...

~**~ ARC Review: Undercover Magic (Dragon’s Gift: The Valkyrie #1) by Linsey Hall ~**~

' ***4.5 Stars*** I must admit that I while I was excited to dive back into the Dragon’s Gift world, I was also a little hesitant because as much as I enjoyed Cass, Nix and Del’s as a whole, I had my fair share of ups and downs with each and really hoped that I’d start out on the right foot with this one and I’m happy to say I had nothing to worry about! Bree and Ana’s stories (though Bree is the main focus right now) started out with a bang and though there were a few slow parts (a total it’s not you, it’s me thing) I had a great time meeting and learning about this new group of characters and this new I really liked Bree and Ana from the first time I met them in Nix’s journey and learning about what they’d been through as children and all that they’ve been doing since made me like them even more. Both are strong, resilient, unfailingly loyal to one another and both have strong personalities and a good dose of snark and sass. Trust issues abound for both Bree and An...

~**~ ARC Review: Origin of Magic (Dragon’s Gift: The Protector #3) by Linsey Hall ~**~

***4 Stars*** That ending was perfect! It really was because it’s that kind of ending that gets me all kinds of excited for what’s coming next and has me making grabby hands. But as that is the ending, and I’m not going to spoil it for anyone who has yet to read the book, we’ll get to starting about my thoughts on what led up to the ending. I’m really liking how Nix’s story is playing out. Though there are times where I do feel as if the story drags a bit, overall I’m liking how everything is unfolding overall. I feel as if we are getting to the heart of who Nix is and the role she was fated to play much quicker than with Cass and Del’s stories. Also, I’m enjoying how everything is coming full circle with the Triumvirate as well as the Drakon/dragons storyline. I’m liking how the Ares/Nix romance is moving along and hanging out with the rest of the crew is always a good time. So, with that ending and what they’ve learned about Drakon and what his plans are, I’m defin...

~**~ ARC Review: Trial by Magic (Dragon’s Gift: The Protector #2) by Linsey Hall ~**~

***4 Stars*** I don’t know exactly what it is or why it is for that matter, but I find myself enjoying Nix’s journey a lot more than I did Cass and Del’s. It’s hard to pinpoint one aspect of the story that’s working for me because I just feel like everything just flowed really well. I really liked the idea of the trials and how they showed us just who Nix, as well as Ares, are at their cores. And the tension that the whole “I like you, but I don’t know if I can trust you” situation cause between Nix and Ares and where they ended up at the end of the book was done very well. I’m liking how there is a new threat with the dragon tattoo’d up gang as well as how it looks like the whole Triumvirate thing is coming into play. Hanging out with the rest of the crew is always a good time, even when they are battling for their lives and I’m looking forward to where the next book will take us! ~ Copy provided by the author & voluntarily reviewed ~ My secret is out. ...

~**~ ARC Review: Fugitive of Magic (Dragon’s Gift: The Protector #1) by Linsey Hall ~**~

***4 Stars*** I’ve enjoyed Cass and Del’s journeys and all the crazy that has come with it, but Fugitive of Magic is my favorite starting off point book of all of them. There are similarities in how things occur, but I like that we are getting a little twist to Nix’s journey than we got with Cass and Del’s in that seems like hers will be a little more structured in nature than the others. I enjoyed being in Nix’s head and am looking forward to seeing what gets unearthed about her past and how it will affect her future. Ares had definitely peaked my interest and I can’t wait to see how he turns Nix’s world upside down. The pacing was good and I enjoyed how well everything flowed. Hanging out with Cass, Aiden, Del, Roarke, Conner and Claire was fun as always and I love how they are always backing each other up. And I’m quite interested to see where Ms. Hall takes us with this series and what changes, if any, it will bring to all involved. ~ Copy provided by the author ...

~**~ ARC Review: Magic Wild (Dragon’s Gift: The Seeker #4) by Linsey Hall ~**~

***4 ‘With a little help from my friends’ Stars*** And were back in the crazy world of the crew from Magic Bend as they put their heads together to find a way to help Del defeat the Shadows and their goal of opening a portal between the worlds so the demons can be set free. I must say that this was my favorite installment of the series, so far anyways, because it felt more settled to me. I know that’s a strange thing to say because the Shadows are still wreaking havoc and Del is still working to gain more power in order to defeat them, but the secondary storylines that are woven into the main one are either resolved, like Roarke and Del’s relationship or they become resolved, like the whole what is going on Roarke’s brother deal. With those having been dealt with the focus is truly on how to defeat the Shadows and for me it allowed me to truly focus on just that and enjoy watching the pieces of the puzzle come together. And I must say that I really liked how everythin...

~**~ ARC Review: Magic Revealed (Dragon’s Gift: The Seeker #3) by Linsey Hall ~**~

***3.5 Stars*** With the third installment of the The Seeker Del, Roarke and the gang are on a mission to find Draka, Del’s friend and Phantom Dragon. As they do their best to figure out where Draka is, bits and pieces of Del’s memories of her childhood begin to surface and what her role in the grand scheme of things starts to become a little clearer. As excited as I was to dive into Magic Revealed and finding out more about Del and what the whole Guardian and The Demise thing was about (as well as spend some quality time with Roarke) I found it difficult to get into the first part of the story. I can’t pinpoint what it was because the writing was as good as always and things story wise were moving along at a good clip, but I just wasn’t hooked. But I persevered and by about the halfway that changed as answers to Del’s past and what her role as Guardian and The Demise as well as why the demons seem to adore her, started to come to the forefront. Did we end up with mor...
