~**~ ARC Review: The Bright and Breaking Sea (Captain Kit Brightling #1) by Chloe Neill ~**~

***4.5 'I Try to be Mysterious at Least Thrice a Day. It Keeps the Blood Moving’ Stars*** This was a fun high seas romp with a good dose of mystery/suspense and filled with a ton of characters I want to spend a lot more time with! I loved Kit. She’s strong, loyal, determined and simply a good person. She isn’t one to overreact, but she has her moments where doing the right thing may get her into a bit of a kerfuffle ~ depending on whose POV one is looking at. I loved that she was absolutely comfortable in her own skin and could, when the situation called for it, admit that her way may not be the best and roll with the punches.  And then there is Rian Grant. I cannot deny that even I was a bit wary of him at the start but as time progressed I ended up liking the Viscount. His is a bit of a grump and can definitely come across as a true member of the Beau Monde, but as the story progresses you find that there is a lot more to him than meets the eye and I cannot wait to find out what ...

~**~ ARC Review: Wild Hunger (Heirs of Chicagoland #1) by Chloe Neill ~**~

***4.5 Stars*** “Snoopy was a realist. Much respect for Snoopy. Woodstock was the asshole.” I have to admit that I went into Wild Hunger both excited and worried all at the same time. I was excited because I loved the Chicagoland Vampires series and was thrilled that didn’t have to truly say goodbye to that world and all the crazy characters I’d come to love. But I was worried because I loved the characters in CV so much and may not love the next generation as much. Thankfully, the worry was not needed. While it did take me a bit to get used to the new characters, I ended up loving them. Elise, Merit and Ethan’s daughter, was a really good mix of both her parents strengths and weaknesses and I love that, despite how “special” she is in the sup world, she is extremely down to earth. She does the right thing more often than not and just has a good heart.  As for the rest of the new characters, Connor, Lulu, Theo, Petra, Yuen and Riley, were a lot of fun ~ even when thin...

~**~ ARC Review: Blade Bound (Chicagoland Vampires #13 ) by Chloe Neill ~**~

***4 ‘#TeamMEthan4Ever’ Stars*** As much as I hate to say goodbye to this series, I have to admit that I am happy that Merit and Ethan finally get some peace and true happiness after all the crazy they’ve been put through. I must admit that I wasn’t all that interested in the crazy that went on in this book. It, in fact, kind of bored me since it was all too similar to what has gone on in previous books, though I did like how it ended up being a catalyst for some interesting developments. What I did love, and what my rating is based on, is my love of the characters ~ at least the ones who are solidly on Team MEthan in one way or another. I’ve loved watching not only Merit and her relationships with the various characters evolve, but watching how all of them have grown into whomever they were meant to be. They are all imperfectly perfect, except for Chuck who was pretty much perfect from the beginning and is simply awesome, and have definitely kept things interesting as...

~**~ ARC Review: Phantom Kiss (Chicagoland Vampires #12.5 ) Chloe Neill ~**~

***4 ‘The fun never ends’ Stars*** After the heaviness of Midnight Marked, Phantom Kiss was a nice change of pace to remind us all just how much fun Methan and the gang are when they aren’t faced with a life or death situation and to get us ready for Blade Bound, the final book in the Chicagoland Vampires series. In Phantom Kiss the gang all gather to do a little ghostbusting of their own as a Phantom is released and causes a little havoc at Cadogan House. The storyline was simple and fun and I loved that we got to hang out with Annabelle, the necromancer, again because the woman fits right in with this motley crew. As much as I love Methan, Luc was the winner in this one with his enthusiasm for the hunt. If you haven’t read at least the last two books in the series you may feel a little lost as it comes on the heels of some pretty major upheaval that just occurred, but it doesn’t push any major storylines forward and only gives a hint as to what could be coming ...
