***2 Stars*** The premise sounded interesting and the author is one that I’ve always wanted to read, so I decided to take the plunge and unfortunately this one didn’t turn out the way I wanted it to. The story in and of itself isn’t horribly written, and had it’s enjoyable moments, but I just couldn’t connect with Lizzy or James. They were likeable, though I did want to Gibbs smack them both on many occasions - and I found that some of their bantering was fun, but they just didn’t have that “it” factor for me. As I said at the start, I really wanted to like this book, and I know there will be those who will love it. But the mean girl comments and judgements coming from both sides just turned me off rather than on. And, to be honest, the whole situation leading up to the business pitch to Jimmy just didn’t work for me. The one good thing, well person, in all of this was Michael. Him I loved. But, unfortunately he couldn’t save this book for me. ~ Copy provided by the publ...
