~**~ ARC Review: Make Me Yours (Make Me #3) by Katee Robert ~**~

***3 Stars*** Le sigh… I wanted to love this one, especially because I do love the author’s words, but alas...this one just didn’t get to the love level for me. I liked it. It was a quick, smexy read, but Becka really did me in ~ this isn’t to say Aaron didn’t have his moments, but really Becka did my head in. Becka. I totally understand that her childhood was way less than stellar, I do, and I want to gut her parents with a spoon for it, but dear lord did she take the whole self fulfilling prophecy to the next level. The continuous projecting of her parents lackluster relationship on both Aaron and herself got real old really fast. Now, Aaron wasn’t a sweet and swoon worthy prince charming the entire time, he did pull the alpha AF high handed thing more than once BUT he did try and temper his need to dig for more than what Becka was willing to give and just go with the flow and I couldn’t help but like him for that. So with my annoyance with Becka, it’s safe to say that I...

~**~ ARC Review: Rend (Riven #2) by Roan Parrish ~**~

*** 3 Stars*** I’m thinking that this book gave me a case of the “it’s not you, it’s me” syndrome because while I really liked the premise, I just couldn’t become fully invested in the story and found that it dragged for me. I loved Rhys, which didn’t surprise me since I loved him in Riven (Book #1), but Matt...it’s not that I didn’t like him, it’s more that while I could empathize with the man, I just couldn’t connect with him and his insecurities/anxieties ~ especially considering the kind of man Rhys was and how long they’d been together. I did like that all that he was going through was addressed and that they both got on board with working through it all, but it couldn’t hold my interest. I wish I had liked this book more than I did and that I had connected deeper than I did with Rhys and Matt, but it just wasn’t in the cards. But I will say that I loved catching up with Caleb and Theo and seeing where they were at in their relationship. ~ Copy provided by the publis...

~**~ ARC Review: Ache for You (Slow Burn #3) by JT Geissinger ~**~

***3 Stars*** This one has me in a bit of a wonky place all around and I know explaining it will more than likely fall into the verbal vomity realm so bear with me. I was absolutely excited to get my hands on this baby. I loved the first two books in this series, as well as all the other books by the author I’ve been able to get my hands on, so I had no doubt that I’d be all kinds of loving this one...but that isn’t what happened. I liked it and did enjoy the book in general, but what I liked didn’t really have anything to do with Kimber and Matteo’s journey to their HEA and more to do with the relationships Kimber had with almost everyone but Matteo *winces and hangs head*. I know. I know. THIS is a romance. I am SUPPOSED to be all about Kimber and Matteo and their journey, but the honest truth is that they were just too OTT craycray for me, which kind of freaks me out because I ADORED the Bad Habit series and lemme tell you the OTT craycray was real in that one. I liked b...

~**~ Series Review: The Kiss & Make Up Series by Sara Ney ~**~

***3 Stars*** I never know what to expect when I’ve found an author I really, really like and decide to go and read the books published before the one, or ones, that had me fall in love with their writing, but it’s something of a nerve racking experience for me because I want to be open minded, but having a point of reference tends to make being unbiased difficult and that’s what happened here. Overall, I liked the book. It was a quick read that felt very YA to me, which is a good thing, but it didn’t give me that gut punch I was looking for. In general, I liked Molly and Weston. Both have their heads screwed on semi well and, in general, are good people. Molly is thoughtful. I’m not sure if it makes her more mature or just more aware, but she doesn’t want to do something just because everyone else is. Yes, she can get nudged into things and does a great job at the deer in headlights rambling thing, but there is also a maturity to her that I appreciated. Weston is an...

~**~ Release Blitz for Truly Yours by Mia Miller w/ Review & Giveaway ~**~

We crashed into each other like the moth and the flame... For years, we've been best friends. I told him all my secrets and I believed I knew his. In camp, I thought he was the most beautiful boy in the world. In high-school, I promised him my virginity. On our first day of college I had three revelations: He's a jerk. He doesn't care. I don't even know him. Release Date: July 2nd, 2018 Goodreads | Amazon US * UK * CA * AU Free in Kindle Unlimited *** 3 Stars *** I adored Love, On Hold, the authors debut novel. It was sweet, a little different, and it totally hooked me. So, when Truly Yours was announced I obviously jumped at the chance to dive into another of her books, especially one that looked like it would be more on the angsty side of things and while things started out on a good foot, it didn’t stay the course and I find that I didn’t love it as much as I was hoping I would. The main issue I had was that I had ...

~**~ ARC Review: Misadventures of the First Daughter (Misadventures #5) by Meredith Wild and Mia Michelle ~**~

***3 Stars*** I’ve been mulling over what to say in this review for a bit because it’s always difficult for me to do a review of a book that falls firmly into my “Liked” folder which means I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it. I simply liked the book. So, with it making me a little wonky, we’re going to keep this short and simple. It was hot as all get out, Zane is…*fans self* and I did find myself wanting to see just how everything unfolded for Zane and Charlotte, but I never got past simply liking either of them. Zane was pretty straight forward in who he was: Good man. Protector. Dominant. Charlotte...I got her. I understood why she did the things she did, and even empathized with her situation, but I just couldn’t get past liking her in general. Their journey was a mish mash of “holy hotness” and “seriously???” for me and the cray cray tossed into the mix wasn’t all that unexpected, but dang. In the end though, I liked where they both ended up. The writing was engag...

~**~ ARC Review: Say You Won’t Let Go (Return to Me #3.5/Lexi Blake Masters and Mercenaries Collection) by Corinne Michaels ~**~

***3 Stars*** When I found out I won a copy of Say You Won’t Let Go, I was really excited because I’ve been wanting to read a Corinne Michaels book, but just never had the time to read one. So, I dove in and while things started off really good, there came that point where it went sideways for me when it came to the romance side of things. Thankfully I was all in when it came to the suspense angle and really enjoyed how that played out. I liked Emily and Cooper, I did. Cooper is a good man. He cares about his family and is protective of those he considers his. Emily hasn’t had an easy life, but she’s a fighter and is now making her dreams come true. My issue came when they became a “couple”. Things happen quickly in a novella, and this one is no different, but there was just something missing for me. I just didn’t feel going on between them other than lust, but I could deal and roll with it. What got me was Emily herself. She made statements in the beginning and then did a f...
