~**~ ARC Review: Covetous by Natalie Bennett ~**~

***4 Stars*** I really enjoyed this book. It had the edgy grittiness that I’ve come to expect from this author, along with a slew compelling characters that I want more of, but it also kept me on my toes as I tried to figure out just what the hell was going because the secrets in this one ran rampant! I really liked Willow and Pierce. Willow is strong, determined and a little impulsive, but she knows what she wants and doesn’t apologize for it. Pierce is a machine. He does what is necessary ~ even if it only makes sense to him ~ and doesn’t apologize for it. And though he is cold and soulless most of the time, he does have enough of a heart to protect those he deems worthy. Their relationship is a bit of a mixed bag of lust, reluctant consent, infatuation and fascination, but within that convoluted mix they fit and I really liked them together. This was a fun, smexy and gritty read and though dark in certain themes, it wasn’t as bloody or gory as some of the author’s books ...

~**~ ARC Review: Sweet Poisons (Pretty Lies, Ugly Truths #1) by Natalie Bennett ~**~

***4 Stars*** Ok. Now that is a cliffy I love to hate. I can’t believe that’s where things ended ~ for now ~ because that’s so not cool ~ but cannot wait to get my hands on the next book to find out what the hell is really going on with Rhett and his crew and Nova, because that girl has got a lot going on in her head. But as or Nova and Rhett. They fascinate me. Rhett is confident, charming and deadly. He is arrogant, but not in a way that is off putting, instead it makes him that much more interesting. Nova is an introvert, but a passionate one who expresses herself in creative ways as she deals with the chaos of her life. Rhett and Nova’s journey, thus far, has been hard, quick and passionate. The chemistry between them is intense as they start to fall for each other, while not necessarily fully trusting each other...and with where things were left at the end of the book, it’ll be really interesting to see just how they come to an accord. Sweet Poisons is definitely a...

~**~ ARC Review: Obscene (A Dahlia Saga #2) by Natalie Bennett ~**~

***5 Stars*** I DEVOURED this baby. It was dark, deviant and gory and yet...and yet I felt the love. Obsessive and deranged at times, but I definitely felt the love. I adored Mason and Katie. Mason, for all the darkness that’s in him, is a man of honor and loyalty. He is also one that is quite honest, at least when it comes to what his heart desires and isn’t afraid to show it ~ even if it’s in ways that aren’t the norm when it comes to romance. Katie, for all that she was sheltered in her life, had a pretty strong sense of self. She knew that she was ‘different’, and would chastise herself for it at times, but also just went with the things going on in her head. She’s naturally curious and I loved how she followed her gut in most things. Their journey to their HEA was definitely an interesting one from start to finish, but one that I thoroughly enjoyed. While there were secrets between them, I loved how honest they were with each other, even when they didn’t want to be. ...

~**~ ARC Review: Malice (The Dahlia Saga #1) by Natalie Bennett ~**~

***4 Stars*** Dark, deviant, disturbing and yet absolutely fascinating! Now, these words pretty much describe all of this authors work, but there are some that just go a tinsy bit further and it’s only the beginning. Julian and Morganna fascinated me. Julian is dark, twisted and yet loves in his own deviant way and it’s hard not to be intrigued by him and how he views the world he lives in. Morganna I really liked. She has her own sickness, if that’s how you want to look at things, but is a good person that is forced into a world that fascinates and repulses her at the same time and it was easy to empathize with her and all she had to go through as she navigated her new reality. Their journey is a disturbing one, but one that showed that they had a sort of flow together that made them stronger and weaker at the same time. And as for that ending, that I didn’t see coming but am definitely looking forward to seeing what happens next for them. Macabre is a re-issue/update of...
