***4 ‘Tequila makes her...’ Stars***
I do love me a good wrong number romance, so choosing to pick up Text 2 Lovers didn’t take much convincing. But it was the tequila soaked opening chapter that hooked me and found the book to be a fun, sweet, smexy, laugh outloud while at times a tad bit over the top Rom Com with a cast of characters that are hard to forget.
Dani is a doormat, though she doesn’t necessarily see herself in that light. She believes in being nice to everyone and that leads her to have a difficult time saying no and being taken advantage of, even by her own friend. Dani had me wanting hug her all the while shaking some sense into her. I loved that she really was a genuinely sweet person who saw the good in people, but the girl really needed to grow a backbone. Her rambling when excited or nervous was cute and I enjoyed watching as she figured out how to be nice without being taken advantage of.
Ram has hit rock bottom. Fired unceremoniously and humiliatingly from his job, he hasn’t figure out just how to pull himself out of it until a scathing, yet funny, text finds its way to his phone. I loved Ram. He is a mix of sweet, sexy and a little dorky but has a little bit of caveman that likes to come out and play.
Dani and Ram’s ‘text to lovers’ journey was a fun one. I loved how their relationship grew through texts and phone calls as well as the smexy turn it took. I laughed at their interactions and couldn’t wait to see how they’d finally collide in the ‘real world’, and it was brilliant, talk about Fate stepping in to get them past the plateau they were on. From there things progress quickly in some ways but it worked since they had spent so much time on the phone together and there were a lot of sweet and swoony moments. Then that big ‘ole damaging pot hole in the road came and I have to be honest and say that it just didn’t work for me. I had a feeling that this particular issue would come into play, but the reaction to it when it does had me going “What? Seriously? That’s what you’re going to do?” Yeah, I wasn’t feeling it at all (though, to play devil’s advocate I must give props to the authors for getting that reaction out of me instead of being apathetic about it) and had it not been for what had gone on prior to that with Dani and Ram I would have totally given up. But I loved Dani and Ram together so will saw that I am happy that they got back on track.
Despite my one issue, this was a fun, quick read. The writing was seamlessly done and you can tell just how much fun these two authors had writing Dani and Ram’s story. As I stated in the beginning, there are some over the top things that happen and may not work for you, but for the most part I was good with them because some of the things that happened would be something my friends and I would get up to. The supporting cast of characters all peaked my interest and though there is one that I wanted to gag, permanently, I am curious to find out what makes that particular character tick so will more than likely pounce on that book but make sure I have a fifth of whiskey close by while reading it.

It’s the start of nothing good.
I fired off a storm of raunchy text messages…to the wrong number.
And he replied.
Him: Show me a picture.
Him: Tell me your name.
Why does the lure of anonymity have me craving to indulge a stranger?
It’s the start of everything right.
I received a slew of text messages…when everything in my life was wrong.
And she made me laugh again.
Her: You’re probably a creeper.
Her: Possibly a stalker.
Why do I have the overwhelming need to find this stranger who saved me and make her mine?
Him: Take a chance with me.
Her: This is crazy.
Him: I need to see you.
Her: What are we doing?
Him: We’re about to find out.
