~**~ ARC Review: Bound by Family (Ravage MC Bound #1) by Ryan Michele ~**~

***5 ‘I Never Want to Be Found’ Stars***

I’m always on the lookout for a great MC romance. It doesn’t matter if it’s MC light or so dark that it’s borderline psychotic, I’m an equal opportunity kinda girl in that, but I haven’t found many that I’ve become fully invested in for one reason or another. So as excited as I was to dive into Bound by Family, I was also hesitant based on past experience, but I had nothing to worry about. This one had it all. It was gritty and sexy with a good balance of humor and drama woven into the story and was filled with characters that I want to know more about.

Cooper is a true son of the Ravage MC. He lives and dies for them and has from the moment he understood what the club was. He didn’t have the best start to his life, but thanks to his father and mother, it hasn’t had a detrimental effect on the man he has become. It was hard not to fall in love with Cooper from the very beginning. He is all dominant alpha male smexyness, but has a good head on his shoulders and isn’t an asshat just to be an asshat and his sweet side is just as lethal as his smexy side.

Bristyl has grown up on the periphery of the Sinister Sons MC and has always been content, and somewhat relieved, knowing that she will never be privy to the inner workings of the club. But now the combination having to follow the rules of the club and her overbearing family have her feeling suffocated as the need to gain her independence grows. I adored Bristyl. This girl has a good heart and head on her shoulders, is thoughtfully spontaneous and yet can get all kinds of feisty when the situation calls for it.

I loved how Cooper and Bristyl’s relationship evolved. There was a physical attraction, but nothing insta to it. They took the time to get to know each other and, for lack of a better term, it all felt organic. Their bantering was fun and flirty and the smexyness was intense. What I really liked was while they had drama to deal with, it wasn’t because either of them was being all angsty. It was from other sources and they dealt with it and through it became closer. They were a perfect fit and I loved where they were at the end of the book.

As you probably guessed from my intro, this is my first Ryan Michele read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The prologue hooked me and I had a difficult time putting the book down. The writing is engaging, the pacing is steady and the dual 1st person POV’s were done very well. It is stated that this is a spin off of the Ravage MC series and one does not have to read it first, but it is recommended. All I can say is that I never felt lost because Ms. Michele did a great job at weaving those characters pasts into the present without slowing the book down, but based on the information given I will be finding a way to work those books higher in my TBR pile.  All of the main secondary characters were well written and have me wanting to know more about them all right now. Ryker is my favorite, but Green is right up there with him and will definitely be keeping an eye out for the next book in the series!

Cooper Cruz knows what it means to be surrounded and bound by family. Loyalty, brotherhood, and protection are all learned, earned, and respected by him and the Ravage Motorcycle Club family he grew up in. At the same, he’s a man, having fun and living the life he has always envisioned, until a trip to Florida changes everything.

Bristyl Daniels knows what it means to be smothered and bound by family. Bonds run deep with her father and all the members of the Sinister Sons Motorcycle Club she has grown up in. But now she’s all woman and wishes they would see she isn’t a little girl anymore. Then one phone call gives her a chance meeting with a hunk of a man she can’t get off her mind.

When her favorite band comes to play at a motorcycle rally in her hometown, Bristyl decides it’s worth the risk to sneak off for a little fun. When a situation gets heated, though, Cooper and the Ravage MC step in, setting off a chain of events, both good and bad in both their lives.

As the dust settles, Bristyl will have to come to some very hard decisions. Meanwhile, Cooper knows exactly what he wants. To hell with the consequences.
