~**~ ARC Review: Sexy Stranger by Kendall Ryan ~**~

***4 ‘It’s All About the Whiskey’ Stars***

Okay, maybe it’s not all about the whiskey, but it was an important part of the Luke and Charlotte’s budding romance so it fits. Sexy Stranger was a fun, quick and smexy read that was filled with interesting characters, both the MC’s and the supporting cast, that made the town of Shady Grove come alive that kept me turning the pages to see what would happen next and wanting more when I reached the end.

Here’s the deal with Luke and Charlotte, when everything was said and done I actually loved them, but dear lord did they have their moments. Charlotte is in limbo. She doesn’t want the life she had, but isn’t all too sure what she wants her new life to be just yet. Once she gets over a few things and opens her eyes to what is right in front of she starts to become the woman she was always meant to be. Luke is a good ‘ole country boy with who has almost everything he could ask for to live the life he wants. His heart is a bit bruised, which has made him wary of letting anyone close, but he hasn’t let it turn him into a full blown cynic.

They definitely start out on rocky ground, but with a little help of the various inhabitants of Shady Grove they find a more even footing with each other and that’s when things start to get real interesting. In some ways things move quickly, but it worked because they did get to know each other and actually see who the other was and could be. I loved their bantering and the sexual chemistry was HAWT! They had their bumps in the road and, for the most part, dealt with them well. There were a couple of things that I’m still waffling over how I feel about them, not that I hated them because I don’t, I totally understand why things happened the way they did, I just wanted something else to happen. I know it’s vague #sorrynotsorry. But in the end I really enjoyed their journey and where they were at in the end.

Sexy Stranger was a quick and addictive read and part of that has to do with the inhabitants of Shady Grove. The small town feel was definitely in full effect with how everyone was up in each other’s business. I loved Luke’s family and from what was going towards the end, I’m keeping my toes crossed that we’ll be visiting Shady Grove again. But my favorite was Audrey, so I’m hoping that we’ll see more of her in the future and that she may just get a book of her down the road.

Luke Wilder knows the lovely stranger doesn’t belong the second she struts into his sleepy little town. She’s a city girl who won’t stay longer than it takes to get her fancy foreign car repaired—which is why he should ignore his powerful need to make her notice him. It’s just that the moment she opens her smart mouth and gives it back as good as she gets, he wants to swap a whole lot more with her than insults.

Charlotte Freemont instantly dislikes the rude redneck stranger she finds herself stuck with. Too bad he’s as hot as sin, and just as tempting. On the run from her messy past, she’s not there to get tangled up with a man, even one as hard to resist as the hotheaded Luke. But when he gives her a private tour of his craft whiskey distillery, their attraction ignites, and Luke seizes the chance to show her there’s a whole lot more to him than the rough, rugged side she sees.

When he finally learns her secret, will it shatter his trust in her? Or do they have a chance to create a whole new blend?

A sizzling, enemies-to-lovers romp with bite.
