***4 ‘Words Without Music Are Far Too Revealing’ Stars***
Hearts on Air is the last book in the Hearts series and I found it be a quick, easy and enjoyable read that was sweet, smexy, filled with heart and didn’t go overboard on the angst, but had just enough to keep things interesting as Trevor and Reya work through what happened in their pasts and see if they have a chance at a future together.
Having not read all of the books in the Hearts series (I’ve read the first two and ADORED them) I got to meet Trevor and Reya for the first time here and I really liked both of them. Both of them had family lives that were not all warm and fuzzy and though they both bore scars, they didn’t allow them to keep them from achieving what they wanted to do with their lives. Their second chance journey was definitely a rollercoaster of a ride, I swear I spent half of the book shaking my head and sighing at some of their choices, but it was easy to see how connected they were, even after being separated for two years, and I liked them together once they got over everything. They were fun, flirty and really saw who the other was down to their very cores. They pushed each other’s boundaries, forcing the other to see beyond themselves all the while being the soft and safe place to land when they needed to regroup so they could face another day.
As I stated earlier, I haven’t read the entire series, only the first two books, and can say with certainty that Hearts on Air can be read as a standalone, though you will want to go back and see what the other couples stories are once you are done. And, yes, I got all kinds of happy, twitterpated when we got a little taste of Jay, Matilda, Jack and Lille in the book.
It was very easy to get sucked into the book and watch as everything unfolded. The writing was engaging and the pacing was good. While I actually loved being in Reya’s head throughout the entire book, there is a part of me that wishes we’d have gotten a bit of Trev’s POV, but it didn’t dampen my enjoyment of their story. The secondary characters in the story are an interesting, eclectic bunch and I am looking forward to getting to know them all better.

3 weeks. 5 cities. 15 impossible stunts. One reality show.
Trevor Cross came into Reya Cabrera’s world with a bang and faded out with a whimper. They vowed to make it work, but life had other plans. After chasing his TV dreams for years, Trev finally became the UK’s next big reality star, but he alienated his family and friends in the process. Now he finally has everything he ever wanted. Women. Money. Fame. But none of it means anything when he doesn’t have the one thing that matters most: love.
Money leaves a gaping hole. Fame surrounds him with loneliness. And no woman makes him feel like Reya used to before the whirlwind of success pulled them apart.
He has a plan to get her back. However, with a hectic filming schedule looming, the only way to do that is to convince her to come on the road with him. Reya has been stuck in a rut for a while, and the opportunity to travel across Europe and play her music for new audiences seems like heaven. The only catch? She has to do it with the one boy who ever got close enough to break her heart. But he’s not a boy anymore, and as she gets to know him again she can’t deny her respect for the man he’s become.
Everytime she’s around him her heart feels full of air, like a balloon about to pop. Little does she know, Trev’s feelings are just as tumultuous as hers. One thing’s for sure, these three weeks on the road together will either make them whole again or break them irrevocably.
**Hearts on Air is a contemporary romance and book #6 in the Hearts series, however it can also be read as a complete standalone.**
