~**~ ARC Review: Foreplay With the Boss (The Billionaires of Boston) by Cynthia Page ~**~

***5 ‘Guidelines’ Stars***

When I read the description of the book my interest was peaked. I mean who wouldn’t be interested in finding out just what kind of lessons one would be given in order to be more assertive in both the boardroom and the bedroom? So, I decided to trust my gut and take a chance on this one and I absolutely loved it! It was sweet, smexy, funny, low on angst and big on heart with characters that kept me turning the pages to see just what they’d be getting up to next!

My first reaction upon meeting Kat was “Oh god, she’s gonna be THAT girl” it wasn’t necessarily a bad reaction, but what she’s doing when we first meet her combined with the fact that we already know she is a bit of a mouse had me preparing for a long haul with the girl, but soon it became very apparent that there was so much more to her and any trepidation I had disappeared. I loved her wit, sass and heart and enjoyed watching as she came into her own.

Jameson is all business all of the time. His reputation of being stone cold was one he has worked hard to achieve and even harder to maintain. I loved Jameson. He’s married to his company, and his reasons why make sense...mostly, but despite his intimidating exterior the heart that beats underneath is bigger than even he sometimes knows. He’s charming, sly and is all kinds of alpha AF smexy and all of that is without even trying which makes him absolutely lethal.

From the moment Jameson and Kat collided sparks flew, and I must say I loved the meet cute nature of it, and all it did was snowball from there. I have to give them credit for trying, hard, to keep things professional and not cross that line, but the chemistry between them wouldn’t allow it. It really was fun to watch them fight each other and themselves and then fail, because they really were perfect for each other and the more time they spent together all the reasons they should be together kept growing. And the smexy was nuclear (have B.O.B. ready to go) Unfortunately there always has to be a few bumps in the road and the big one isn’t a surprise, it’s laid out from the start, and though I knew what was probably going to happen, I was still pleasantly surprised with how it was exposed and how it was resolved between them and loved where they were at in their relationship at the end of the book.

Had I not done my due diligence and checked out Ms. Page’s social media I never would have guessed that this was her debut novel. I enjoyed her writing style and voice.  pacing was great as was the dual 1st person POV. I liked how she kept things simple and didn’t try to pile on the drama and angst in hopes of keeping things interesting. I loved Kat and Jameson and am hoping that Ben and Nate will be getting books because they both peaked my interest, and of course I’m crossing my toes for more so I can get updates on Kat and Jameson. If you’re looking for a fun and smexy read with great characters that has just the right amount of drama to keep things interesting then Foreplay With the Boss is a definite must read!

My boss is teaching me to be bolder in the boardroom…and the bedroom.

I’m not bold enough to take over my father’s company, but I’ve sworn to do whatever it takes to learn. Even if it means working for Jameson Stone, the billionaire CEO of Craze Advertising, who’s as hard and unmovable as his name implies. He tells me to demand what I want instead of backing down, something I’ve always struggled with—in the boardroom and the bedroom. There are things I want to try, things I’ve only read in my romance novels, but have been too afraid to ask for.

When my boldness lessons turn into foreplay lessons, it’s nearly impossible not to fall, and if I’m not careful, I’ll end up losing everything I’ve worked for to a man who’ll always choose business over me.
