***4 ‘#TeamLock’ Stars***
After finishing Caged I crossed my toes that there would be more stories coming from that world because there were a couple of loose strings that I really wanted to see tied up. So, when Locked was announced I was all KINDS of excited, because let’s be honest ~ I love Clarissa Wild’s dark and dirty mind and the mindfuck she takes me on and what a wild ride Locked was! It was a journey that was all kinds of dirty, smexy and yet sweet and filled with heart that made me step outside of my little bubble and really consider what I’d do if I were in that situation.
Okay. I ADORED Lock. He is all kinds of wild and savage...think caveman, but he isn’t an animal. His view of the world is simple and in that simplicity is a pure and bruised heart that just wants to live in a world that gives him peace. I will admit that I had my moments with some of his actions, but the man was so honest and sincere in his actions and feelings that it was difficult to dislike him.
Jules, Jules, *big, heavy sigh* Jules. Here’s the thing. If I were in her situation, I know I’d be freaking the fuck out. No question about it. So I totally empathize with her and her reactions and while some of her actions I understood, some just drove me batshit crazy. Common sense and logic went bye bye, and I get why but...damn. What saved her for me was that when she wasn’t freaking out, she was this kind, inquisitive and compassionate woman, a little uptight, but a good woman.
I know I don’t even have to say anything about their romance, but I will. It was all kinds of down and dirty smexy. It has that whole Tarzan/Beauty and the Beast vibe (and you all know how much I love my Beauty and the Beast romances) that just totally worked for me. But what really got me was how basic it was. Here are two people alone in the wild with no distractions so they are forced to come as they are. It doesn’t get more real than that. The crazy ran rampant, which is to be expected when extreme opposites are thrown together, and though Jules drove me up the wall, I can’t say I was unhappy that she fought her attraction to Lock as much as she did, if she hadn’t I probably would have written her off. But their HEA is theirs and I’m just happy they worked everything out.
There will a wide range of reactions to Locked and I’m firmly in the corner of enjoying the hell out of it. True, I am a Clarissa Wild fan and all, but this was a run ride and I cannot wait for Chased!
