~**~ ARC Review: Wicked Choice (The Wicked Horse Vegas #4) by Sawyer Bennett ~**~

***5 Stars***

When I read the blurb for Wicked Choice I was all “Huh...okay...I definitely need to see what Ms. Bennett will do with this situation” and she did not disappoint. I devoured all the words because I couldn’t put the Kindle down (even though I was supposed to be doing the #workthing), it was all kinds of hot, smexy nummyness (not a surprise) but Rachel and Bodie and their journey was addicting on every level and I didn’t want the book to end.

Bodie was all kinds nummy goodness. He’s got that good ‘ole boy charm, loves his mama and, for the most part, is pretty chill...and then the alpha comes out and dear lord can he go from chill to alpha AF in less than a heartbeat. True, he is a mercenary, but still. The two sides to his personality make him absolutely lethal. Rachel is simply badass. When she is focused on a goal, she’s all in. Her intelligence is off the chart, she doesn’t mince words, and though she comes off tough, there is a warmth and softness underneath it all that she doesn’t always realize comes through in how she processes and then handles things as they come at her.

Bodie and Rachel’s journey, though not conventional, was actually a fun one to experience. I loved that, outside of the smoking hot sex, that their relationship evolved slowly and, for lack of a better word, organically. It was quite awkward in the beginning, that flew off the page in spades, but then things evened out and though they had come from things on opposite ends of the spectrum they found a true common ground and that they genuinely liked each other. Of course there are bumps in the road, especially since they are mercenaries, but they were handled well and brought about some very earth shattering light bulb moments for both of them.

Ok, so I’m a Sawyer Bennett fangirl and pretty much love everything she’s put out for the masses to devour, but I have to say I really liked the direction she took with Rachel and Bodie’s story and the whole ‘oops I’m pregnant’ situation. It was handled realistically and all points of view were brought up and dealt with quite well. Outside of Rachel and Bodie, we do get to spend a bit of time with Kynan, whom I adore and need more of, as well as Jerico, which was a nice surprise, but we also get to meet a new crew of characters and I’m really looking forward to getting to know them better, especially Sal, that man definitely struck a chord. So, I cannot wait for the next Wicked Horse Vegas book and for more of the members of the Jameson Group!

Rachel Hart and Bodie Wright are nothing more than teammates. As mercenaries for hire with the elite Jameson Group, they have each other’s backs in the most dangerous of circumstances. But after a mission gone deadly wrong, Rachel does something she’s never done before. She crosses the professional line and takes comfort in Bodie’s arms.

One night of passion turns their lives upside down with a pregnancy neither of them expected, and one that Rachel was too terrified to ever want. Bodie, however, is a family man through and through, and he’s determined to raise their child alone if necessary.

The only common thread Rachel and Bodie have is their membership at The Wicked Horse, a sex club that lets them both fulfill their dirtiest fantasies with each other. As they become more intimately entwined, the strong, steady man with a heart of gold makes Rachel question everything she ever thought she knew about herself. Their wicked nights together make them so much more than teammates and Rachel is about to discover the choices she thought were the most difficult are actually the easiest ones to make.
