Having already read Driving Whiskey Wild (scroll down a bit to see my ebook review) and absolutely adoring Bullet, Finley and the rest of the Whiskey clan, I was excited to see how the story held up on audio for me and I wasn’t disappointed in any way. It bumped up the emotional impact of the story and truly brought the characters to life for me and had me wanting more when the story ended.
I always find myself being a bit anxious when it comes to listening to a new to me narrator, especially when I’ve already read and adored the book, and I’ll admit that it took the first chapter for me to become used to Paul Woodson’s performance, but after that it I because used to the cadence and pacing of his voice and became lost in the story. The various voices for the characters were done well and after settling in, it was easy to differentiate who was speaking without any issue.
Overall, the audiobook version was done very well. The narrator brought the characters to vibrant life and had me falling in love with them all over again!

My eBook Review
O.M.G the swoons and feels are all kinds of real with this one. Not that I expected any less since we are talking about the Whiskey clan in general and all that, but I actually did the whole blink-blink no there is no excess moisture threatening to fall over my lower lashes thing. This book just did it for me on all fronts and left me in the weird limbo of being absolutely satisfied and still wanting more.
So where to start and NOT become verbal vomit-y?? (Probably too late, but…)
Bullet is a Whiskey through and through. He speaks his mind aka blunt as all get out, does his best to always be honest and is probably one of the most overprotective Alpha AF males you’ll ever meet, but he’s haunted by his past and the guilt that comes from it weighs heavily on his heart and soul. I adored Bullet for all the above reasons and more because his heart is so golden it’s blinding, but man, is he stubborn so much so that not even a titanium pipe to the head would break his tunnel vision.
Finley has moxie and is that intriguing combination of sassy, sweet, naive and determined that keeps you on your toes and want to know what her next move will be. I adored Finley on so many levels, she cooks and bakes, so the food lover in me was all kinds of happy, but it was how open she was and wasn’t afraid to put herself out there and figure things out on her own that I truly admired. The one thing that I did have to wrestle with was her own special brand of verbal vomiting, I know I do it so I should be okay with it, but we are all different and even I had my moments of needing her to just chill.

Obviously, I’m fangirling and kinda verbal vomiting, so I’ll cut myself off soon, but I do have to mention the Whiskey clan and those that apart of their inner circle because they play a large part in why I adore these book. The family dynamic jumps off the page and I love the depth that each one brings to the story. I don’t have a clear favorite because they are all so much fun, but Tinkerbell definitely stole my heart and Kennedy is an absolute doll. But I’m absolutely excited for Bones and Sarah’s book ~ I had a feeling about these two ~ and cannot wait to get my hands on it!
