***5 ‘Demi-gods Don’t Apologize’ Stars***


I’ve read enough of this author’s words to know that, no matter how much I prepare for it, she will find a way to shred my heart and then piece it back together ~ many times over ~ but this one. This one was intense. To the point where ‘all the feels’ doesn’t do it justice. My gut twisted and my heart shattered as much as I swooned and melted ~ and there were many times when it felt as if they were happening all at once. And then there was the rage...that was strong. But the need to see two amazing men get their HEA kept me from tossing the Kindle into the freezer and in the end, it was absolutely worth it.

Max and Silas. It was hard to not fall into adoration with these two. On the surface they are total opposites in many ways, but soon I found that they were a lot more alike than anyone ~ save Eddie ~ could ever know. Both have such golden hearts and care so deeply that they will do anything for those that matter. Their journey to their HEA was rough. Their painful pasts, unsteady present and uncertain futures wreaked havoc on them in every way possible, and yet they found each other. They found strength and comfort in one another and and undeniable pull that neither could ignore.

While I hate sounding like a broken record, even if the sentiment is worded differently, I can’t help but say once more how much this book messed with my heart on every level. The good, the bad, the ugly ~ and there was pretty intense ugly ~ but it was all necessary and definitely gave great insight to all the characters involved. And speaking of characters, they were all very well written. My absolute fav was Eddie, but Faith wasn’t far behind. So, if you’re looking for a book that twist up your heart, shatter it and then piece it back together many times over before getting to the pretty amazing HEA, then this one is definitely for you!
