~**~ ARC Review: The Priest (The Original Sinners #9) by Tiffany Reisz ~**~

***4 Stars***

Confession first: I haven’t read all of the Original Sinners books. I’ve read a couple and then some that are connected to the world of, but I still consider myself a newbie to the world and the intricacies of the relationships between all of the main characters. But with that said, I thoroughly enjoyed my time in their world and didn’t feel lost at all. I mean, my interest in Nora, Søren and Kingsley got kicked up a good bit and has me wanting to mess with my TBR list so I can truly dive into their world, but I never felt like I was so far out in left field when it came to their unique dynamic that I lost interest in the book.

With that said, the mystery of why Father Ike committed suicide was very well done.  While there were parts that dragged a bit for me, the twists and turns in the story kept me turning the pages to see how everything would turn out and it was definitely one for the ages.

But what really held my interest was the budding friendship between Cyrus and Nora. I loved their bantering and how they may appear to be total opposites, they actually have quite a bit in common and seeing it play out was a lot of fun.

I’m crossing my toes that we’ll be seeing Cyrus and Pauline again, because they definitely make a great team, but I’m also curious to see what happens next in the lives of Nora, Søren and Kingsley because they’ve got a lot of things that need to be handled.

When a New Orleans parish priest is found dead of an apparent suicide, the police see no reason to investigate. Private detective Cyrus Tremont knows a cover-up when he sees it, however. A former cop, he’s seen it all...or so he thought.

Clues point him in the direction of Nora Sutherlin, an erotic romance writer who moonlights as a dominatrix. Together, they form an unlikely bond built on their shared need for justice.

As Cyrus is drawn deeper into Nora’s underground world of pleasure and pain, what lines will he cross to discover the truth about the priest? And what will he and Nora do with the truth once they find it?

Tiffany's books inhabit a sexy shadowy world where romance, erotica and literature meet and do immoral and possibly illegal things to each other. She describes her genre as "literary friction," a term she stole from her main character, who gets in trouble almost as often as the author herself. She lives in Lexington, Kentucky with her husband, author Andrew Shaffer, and two cats. If she couldn't write, she would die.
