I gotta admit, I fell on the side of the line that actually liked Wicked Princess. I liked how different it was from the others and simply found it fascinating, so when the blurb for this book came out I waffled over reading it or not (and trust me, the waffling went on for a minute) but I decided I NEEDED to because...Oakley. I needed to see him get his HEA in the worst way and I gotta say, I’m glad I dove in because while it wrecked me in some ways, in the end, it did my heart good by giving Oakley the HEA he deserved.
With all of that said, this is gonna be a quick (ish) and dirty review so spoilers hopefully won’t happen…
Bianca: I gotta say, I had a dislike/fascination relationship going on with her from the start and that only grew as the series progressed and in the end, after watching her hurt others, hurt herself and then have a ton of come to Jesus moments, I gotta say, I love the girl.
Oakley: He broke my heart from the start, so the need to find out just what it would take for his to stop his self loathing was strong and in the end, after he finally got out of the purgatory he locked himself in, I can honestly say he owned my heart.
Stone: I loved him in Wicked Princess, but a moment happened...and funny enough it wasn’t something he did that changed things, it’s what he didn’t do because it was a total “Oh, no he didn’t!?!” moment and, well, he ended up where is always should have been.
When I saw just how many chapters this baby has, I was like “OMG...what have I gotten myself into??:” but I got so lost in the story that it just flew by and before I knew it I was saying good bye to the Covingtons and those they call their own. It was one hell of an emotional rollercoaster ride and I am somewhat hung over from it all, but it was soooo worth it in the end!
