***5 ‘To The People Who Feel Like Sunshine’ Stars***
While reading the tease aka the first 12 chapters of Storm in My Night With a Rock Star , I kept thinking “Ok. I’m feeling this. I’m liking Storm and Lotus” so my interest in their journey kept growing and then the first twist hit and I went “Hmmmmm”. But then the next couple of bombs that were dropped had my head spinning and I’ll admit that I waffled between wariness and intense curiosity as to how everything would end up playing out...especially with all that happened in that 12th chapter.
Well, curiosity won out (no surprise there) ~ though the whole 66 chapters + epilogue thing did have me going ‘Whoa” and in the end I have to say that this baby was all kinds of goodness. It was a fun, sweet and smexy read with a whole lot of heart and just the right amount of drama/angst to keep things interesting right up to the very end.
I ended up adoring Storm and Lotus, they both had me growling in frustration at times, but I still adored them. For all that Storm is closed off, he’s quite genuine. He goes where his heart and emotions take him, even if he shouldn’t, and isn’t afraid to speak his mind when necessary. Lotus is a sweetheart. Her heart is bruised, but not broken. She’s gone through a lot in her young life, but still has this openness about that at times makes her a little too trusting, but she owns it and comes out stronger for it.
Their journey to their HEA is definitely an interesting one ~ those twists, man. But the one thing that jumped off the page from the start was just how well they fit together. They had a flow that worked, even when things got rocky, and I was happy with how everything worked out for them in the end.
I will admit that I was a bit afraid that this would turn out to be an OTT angst-fest, especially with how things were left after chapter 12, but it wasn’t. There was angst, but it was necessary for the growth of the characters and it was handled well and the sweet and smexy definitely balanced everything out. I loved catching up with the Dogs, but it was the newbies that had me all kinds of happy. I ADORED Sophia and Cork ~ these two were all kinds of everything ~ but I can’t say that Saber and Shield didn’t fascinate me, so I’m crossing my toes that we’ll get to hangout with the this new crew in the future!
