***5 ‘This Is Our Madness’ Stars***
There are many reasons why I pick a book to read. Normally, it’s because of the author. Sometimes it’s the cover and sometimes it’s the blurb, or a combination of the three.
But this time it was the title of the book and the fact that the author’s name was not only unique, but one I’d never heard of before. There was no cover, no blurb but I knew I needed to read the book and lemme tell you, I’m happy I went with it because this book was all kinds of goodness. Well written, unique characters, great world building and a mystery that kept me on my toes up until the very end.
I ADORED Corvina and Vad. Corvina fascinated me. Her upbringing was unique, for lack of a better word, but she came out on the other side of it with a quiet strength and a maturity that drew me in. Vad is an enigma. He doesn’t give much away, but what he does there was a sense that it wasn’t as clear cut as you think it may be.
As for their journey to their HEA, it was definitely unique considering their backgrounds, the taboo factor and the school itself, but even with all the chaos swirling around them, they had this intense connection and I was all in. What I liked the most was that while there was the whole teacher/student thing, they were evenly matched and I loved how they got under each other’s skins and though there were some major ups and downs, I’m very happy with how things turned out for them in the end
This was a great read, and a great introduction to the author. The writing was engaging, the first person pov was very well done and I really like how I was immersed in the world and the vibe of the world immediately. The whole mystery surrounding the school, as well as the twists and turns tossed in, were all well done and while there are a few questions left unanswered, I liked how everything played out. As for the supporting cast of characters...all very well done and I loved what they brought to the story. This is a standalone, but I’m crossing my toes that the author will visit this world again because I found it really interesting. Until then, I will be adding the authors' other books to my very, very long TBR list!

Meet RuNyx
I was born with stories in my veins. As far back as my memories go, story-telling has been a part of my life.
I stumbled upon writing accidentally while going through severe depression.
Writing became not just a means of expressing but also catharsis. Every single character and every single story became precious. It taught me to love, to live, and most importantly, it made me discover who I was.
