This book was equal parts light, fun, flirty and smexy and frustrating, angsty and heartbreaking. It was definitely a roller coaster of ride that kept me turning the pages until the very end.
I loved Leif and Fernando. Leif is vibrant, determined and charming. He’s always known who he is and, despite having his world implode on him, he’s picked himself up and made the world his own. Fernando is steadfast, loyal and protective and family is everything to him. He’s taken so much on his shoulders that I couldn’t help but admire him, even when the going got tough, he dug his heels in and did the right thing.
Their journey to their HEA was a rocky one, but a fun one in the end. The chemistry between Leif and Fernando was intense from the start and even though they only had a week together it was easy to see that they could have something real if only they could see beyond the here and now. There were a lot of ups and downs in their road, some had me frustrated with them, some with others who tripped them up, but I love the way they rallied for each other in every way.
This was another great addition to the BFB series. This book does tackle some heavy topics and there were definitely moments that hit closer to home that I thought they would, but they were handled well and necessary for character development. As for the BFB crew, I loved catching up with all of them, with a couple of exceptions, but of the newbie, I ADORED Ava. She was seriously awesome and despite the need I had to reach out and Gibbs smack Ricky ~ and still kinda do ~ I cannot wait to see what’s in store for him.
