~**~ Release Blitz for The Sinner by Emma Scott w/ Review ~**~

The Sinner by Emma Scott is now live!

Shy, introverted Lucy Dennings lives a quiet little life in New York City, working for a nonprofit and keeping to herself. Every afternoon, she goes home to her empty apartment and Edgar, her houseplant, and every night, she loses herself in the pages of her beloved romance novels. Her lonely heart seeks solace in tales of passionate, enduring, all-consuming love, but more and more, Lucy feels she's not just reading for pleasure but searching for a lost piece of herself in the pages. As if she once touched something beautiful but it's been ripped away.

Until one day Lucy discovers a dead body in the alley behind her apartment. Even if it's too late, her first instinct is to help.

Her second is to run.

Because the dead body isn't so very dead, and suddenly, her little world isn't so little but one in which dreams feel like memories, "inner demons" actually lurk in dark alleys, and a beautiful creature of darkness with amber eyes and wings like night might hold the key to what her heart has been aching for...if she doesn't fall down the path of eternal damnation first.

From USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author, Emma Scott, comes an emotional paranormal love story of passion, sacrifice, and the soul-deep love of a lifetime...more than one

***5 Stars***

I have to be honest. I made big time grabby hands at this book before I even read the blurb.

Which isn’t all that unusual when it comes to this author, but I was more than happy to fall down whatever rabbit hole she had conjured up. Then I read the blurb and I was definitely all in and I have to say I was not disappointed in any way.

This baby pushed all the right buttons for me and has me wanting to spend a lot more time with these characters and in this world

I adored Lucy and Cas. Lucy is an introvert and that is something that I totally connected with. The need for “me” time is something I totally understand. She is shy, but she has this inner strength that, if she could only get past those inner voices that plague us all, would shine so bright that she’d be invincible. Cas is a strange mix of hero/antihero, he’s got that protective alpha af thing going on, but also carries the weight of the world on his shoulders.

As for their journey….I gotta say it was pretty epic. I thoroughly enjoyed all the twists and turns and just how layered it all was. They may have been opposites on the surface, but beneath it? Well, they have a connection that is undeniable...and that epilogue? LOVED.

This was simply a great read. It is paranormal, but realistic enough that I just rolled with it all. There may be some that may have issues with some of the topics in this and feel that there is a religious vein running through it (there is a little “warning” at the beginning of the book about it) but I never felt that. I saw it as more what one believes about life, death, love and the choices we make in our lives. And then there are the supporting cast of characters. I adored Cole, Jana, Ambri and Eistibus and want more time with them...and it looks like I’ll get my wish and I have a feeling who the other may be *toes crossed*
