Life works in mysterious ways. Jameson Force Security has just received notice of a disavowed CIA agent in need of rescue in Central America. My blood runs cold when I learn that agent is none other than Greer Hathaway—my former fiancée. Having gone our separate ways more than a decade ago, I still have bitter feelings toward Greer and the demise of our relationship. Those feelings don’t change the fact that I loved her more than anything, so I’m on the next flight out to embark on a rescue mission. Besides, Greer once saved my life, so now it’s time to return the favor and put her firmly in my past. Face-to-face for the first time since ending our engagement, Greer and I are left with not only anger, unanswered questions and regrets, but also the undeniable chemistry we apparently still have. Will the promise of a new future together be enough, or will the same obstacles tear us apart again?

***4.5 Stars***

This was a quick, engaging read that kept me turning the pages to not only see Ladd and Greer got their second chance HEA, but how they would end up getting the bad guys in the end.

I really liked Ladd and Greer. Both are confident, honorable and just all around good people. Their journey to their second chance HEA was an enjoyable one. The connection and chemistry between them was apparent from the moment they were thrown back together and despite the simmering antagonism, at times awkwardness between them, I really liked them together.  I also liked how we got to see pieces of their shared history so that the antagonism between them could be understood, but also how they viewed those moments as the people they are now. The ‘Now’ perspective definitely came into play when we find out why the broke up  and I will say that I definitely sided with one of them more than the other, but the lightbulb moment that came out of it for one of them was worth it and I’m happy how everything worked out in the end.

Disavowed is a great addition to the series. The mystery/suspense part of the story wasn’t overly complicated and simply well done. I loved getting to hang out with the JFS crew and seeing not only how the various romantic relationships are doing, but just how much stronger they are as a family. As for the ‘non’ JFS people in this one, I loved Ethan and Brittany. Ethan was AMAZING. And as for that teaser of Revenge…I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how that one plays out!
