***4 Stars***
Well, the whiplash was real with this one, as was the full on mindfuck with all the things going on, not a surprise considering who the author is, but if you do choose to pick this baby up and dive in, be prepared to go to that place where all lines are blurred and no boundaries exist.
As for Meraki and Niko…the author has stated that these two are not the warm and fuzzy sort of characters you’ll fall in love with, and I can’t even say that they are morally gray, maybe a very, very dark gray where they are an inch away from being black? Yeah, and while I can’t say that I truly liked them, I did find them fascinating in the choices they made and the reasons behind them. Their relationship is simply toxic, but it was such that they worked and I kept turning those pages just to see how much further they could go and the chaos that ensued did not disappoint.
This book has a lot going on, the twists and turns are numerous ~ hence the mindfuck factor ~ and I still haven’t untangled all of it my head, so we are in a state of “I think it makes sense, but…” As for the supporting cast of characters…they were interesting in their own way, but there was one I thought was freakin’ awesome and one I just really liked despite everything, and to be absolutely honest, these two bumped up my enjoyment of the book as a whole. As for the ‘dark’ yeah, the triggers are plentiful, descriptive and at times OTT, so reader beware.
So, if you’re in the market for dark, chaotic, OTT, toxic and filled with characters who push the line at even being morally gray, then this baby is for you.

Meraki Davis lived two lives. The one that everyone thought she did, and the one she worked hard to hide. She burned with her demons instead of running from them, but when Niko Davis rode back into town with a bag full of secrets, she knew she would need to start hiding them instead. Niko knew her inside and out, and if he saw even a smidge of her soul, he would see that she was no longer the girl he left behind…
When the president of the New York chapter of the Seven Knights MC dies, he passes the gavel down to Niko… but unknown to anyone else, that’s not the only thing he left him.
Niko fights for what’s his, and he’s only ever claimed one person in his life—Meraki. So when he rips away the walls she built around herself with his bare teeth, the secrets that she has so fiercely hidden away all of these years suddenly bleed onto the four unmarked graves laid out in front of his steel-cap boots…
It started with a bond that destroyed everyone around them…
…it ends with blood.
*This is a DARK ROMANCE. Please check triggers if you think you may need to.

Amo Jones is a small country girl totally winging this author thing (she's probably doing it all wrong). She likes cake, loves wine, and her religion is magic. She's a profound work-a-holic, but when she's not writing, you can find her chilling with her kids & partner at the nearest beach, with a cocktail in her hand.
