This baby was dark, disturbing, bloody and brutal in more ways than one, but that all faded into the background when Viking and Arie were together. They brought humor, heart and heat to the story and I was quite saddened when there were no more words to read.
Obviously I adored Viking and Arie. Viking is morally gray, but still has morals that are deeply embedded in his own code of honor. Arie is a work in progress, but one that has a spine of steel and clever mind. Their journey to the HEA was a lot of fun as they learned about each other, and themselves, as they collided in a very not so meet cute way and found themselves bound to each other in ways they never could have imagined.
This is my first read by the author and I thoroughly enjoyed the ride. The writing was engaging, pace was good and the first person dual POV’s were well done. As I said at the start, it is dark and disturbing and triggers abound, but it definitely kept things interesting. Then there were the supporting cast of characters. I loved CJ and Blue and it was cool to see Niko and Meraki do their thing in this story, but Wolf and Gypsy definitely piqued my interest and I wouldn’t mind if they got their own HEA.
