Ok, that *points up* may not have much to do with the plot of the book, but it was a line that had me snort laughing, actually the scene where it comes from was simply awesome, and I just had to use it somewhere and somehow in this review, so it’s at the top. But this wasn’t the only line, or moment that I loved while reading this book. There were soooo many that hit those buttons for me in just the right way that not only has me kicking myself for NOT reading this author before now, and making grabby hands at the next book in the series!
I adored Spencer and Brielle. It was hard to NOT like these two. With Brie, one, yeah, my heart hurt for her and what she was dealing with, how could it not? But she’s a fighter, sweet, sassy and stubborn as all get out. Spencer is simply a good man. He has his own demons he battles, but a good, strong, protective charming man. Their journey to their HEA is definitely an interesting one, and I really can’t say much more, but I just really liked them together. Obviously they know quite a bit about each other considering the brother’s bff thing, but they had a flow outside of that I really liked and despite quite a few bumps in the road, I loved how they worked through it all and got their HEA.
This really was a great read. I was ready to dive in as soon as I read the blurb and, despite knowing that things were going to be rough, I still ended up going through ALL of the feels one could imagine having while reading this story. Also, I have to clarify a bit from my earlier statement about not reading the author sooner. I did, but it was a novella, and I liked it, but didn’t LOVE it, so I always told myself that I’d go back and start one of her series…one day. That never happened, but I think it was just the book universe holding me at bay for this book, because, again, great read. And as for the supporting cast…Emmett, Holden and Addy were freakin’ awesome and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next one in the series because that one will be all kinds of fun!
