Talk about being put through the wringer with this baby. I mean the hits were rough, like the teary/sniffly kinda rough to the ARE YOU SERIOUS kind (and, Yes, I did actually blurt that outloud and not in my head) but then there’s that whole thing where you cannot help but fall in love with the Whiskeys (and Wickeds) and those that they call their own because they are just so damn loveable in how they love and protect each other…so basically? A full on emotional rollercoaster that kept me turning the pages until the very end and has me making grabby hands for more.
Dare and Billie. That I adore them is obvious, but these kept me on my toes. My heart hurt for Billie and all that she was carrying around on her shoulders, but I loved her sass, spunk and just all around good heart. Dare is charming, charismatic, sweet, wild and just an all around good guy.
Their journey to their HEA was an emotional one, but a fun one. They had things to work through, to open up about, and though it takes a nudge and an interesting stunt, they finally start to reconnect and sparks of all kinds start to fly. But through it all, I was rooting for them. Their chemistry, bantering and just their flow was awesome and I am very happy with how things worked out for them.
The Whiskey’s, Wickeds, Dark Knights in general are some of my fav romance books and this one falls right in line with those. While that one situation got me a bit twisted up, everything else was awesome to experience, even when it gave me the sniffles. As for the supporting cast of characters. They were all awesome. It’s really hard to not fall in love with these characters. To say I have a favorite is difficult, so I won’t, but the one I am most intrigued by ~ and totally want to see fall to the love bug ~ is Birdie because it’ll take a special man to win that girl's heart. So, now, it’s time to practice patience and wait for the next one to arrive on the Kindle.
