Talk about whiplash…
You know, when I get into a book I tend to pick a “Team” and I typically stick with that Team for the most of the book. There may be a moment or two where I go “hhhmmmm” and consider switching teams, but it is typically ONLY a moment…
But not here. Nope. Emmett and Blake did my head in. One chapter I’m all Team Emmett and then the next I’m all Team Blake and sometimes…sometimes…it switched mid chapter. I lost count after a while and decided that I would just be “Team it will all work out in the end”. So what does this mean? It means that I loved these two. They are perfectly imperfect, have a strong code of honor, love hard ~ even when they don’t want to ~ and are truly perfect for each other.
Now, there is a lot that goes on between Emmett and Blake and the case that brings them back together, and lemme tell you…it gets kinda craycray for a minute. Even I was like “Seriously?!?” but I enjoyed the way things unraveled and where things were left in the end.
I loved the first book in the series and I loved this one ~ even if my eyes hurt from all the rolling. There are triggers, so reader beware, but they are all handled well. I loved catching up with Brielle, Spencer and Addy and just seeing how they are all doing. But it looks like Holden is up next and things are definitely going to get real interesting for him and I cannot wait to experience it!
