~**~ ARC Review: Recipe for Love by Anne Malcom ~**~

***5 ‘Crisis Cake’ Stars***

First and foremost ~ I warn all of you that you will be hungry while reading this, even if you don’t have a huge sweet tooth like myself, you’ll end up NEEDING food of some kind, so be warned.

Second ~ OMG,I freakin’ adored this book! The smalltown vibe, the grumpy/sunshine kinda insta but not thing going on and a whole slew of characters I seriously want to hang out with more…this baby had it all and made my romance loving heart oh, so, happy!

I adored Nora and Rowan. ADORED. Nora is determined and quirky and sweet. Rowan is all kinds of grumpy, protective alpha as F*** male. They both have their demons and are constantly working with them, around them, through them, but they have really good hearts. Their journey is a strange mix of slow burn (OMG Slow burn, but OMG when the heat starts *fans face*) and insta all at the same time, but it worked for me. It takes awhile for them to get on the same page, the bumps in their journey sometimes seem endless, but no matter what is thrown at them, they find their way back to each other. Their first actual collision is all kinds of awkward goodness, but I really liked how they saw who the other was, accepted all of it and helped to make each other stronger.

This was a great read, obviously considering what I opened with, but it was. I’ll admit that the beginning was a bit slow for me, but once things get going, they go. While this isn’t a ‘dark’ romance by any means, there are triggers and some are big, but as far as what goes on between Nora and Rowan, nope, just angst and two people realizing they are good together. And as for the secondary characters…this baby is chock full of good ones. Tina, Tiffany, Fiona, Kip and the Derrick family are all freakin’ amazing and I’m happy that we’ll be seeing more of them all in the future!

Nora Henderson is of the opinion that chocolate cures almost everything.

Which, among a few other reasons, is why she opened her bakery in the small town of Jupiter, Maine five years ago.

People come from miles for her chocolate peanut butter cupcakes. Customers almost come to blows over the last almond croissant. Some even say her chocolate chip cookies help ease the burn of heartbreak.

Nora’s life is good. On the surface, at least.

Underneath the frosting and the sweet décor of her bakery is a broken engagement, doubt and anxiety spirals.

In short, Nora Henderson is a mess.

Not someone Rowan Derrick would ever be interested in. He’s the gruff veteran who owns a construction company, who broods his way around town and can wear the crap out of a backward baseball cap.

He stars in almost every one of her fantasies. She expected him to stay there, to remain her imaginary boyfriend and customer … nothing else.

But Rowan Derrick has had his eye on Nora for a while. Little does she know, she stars in every one of his fantasies too. And now that the beautiful baker is no longer engaged, he’s going to make her his.
