I don't know what I am or how I got the power to stop time. What I do know is, there are far too many questions I need answers to.
When I cross paths with a local gang member, his presence unravels a part of my past I never knew existed.
At every turn, danger leaps closer, and I realize that stopping the killer will mean losing everything—including the first man I've ever loved.
But I should've known better. We were never meant to be anything more than a brief stop in time.

***5 ‘Mediocre’ Stars***

Well, this baby was anything but mediocre. It was awesome and I freakin’ LOVED it! I was hooked from the start and savored every twist and turn, and believe me when I say things are all kinds of twisty, and loved watching Mac and Danny find the one thing they’d never let themselves dream of.

I adored Mac and Daniel. Mac is a strong woman who’s been dealt a crazy hand in life and is just trying to stay sane and figure out what is going on. Sassy, snarky and way more caring than she ever wants to admit, I just freakin’ loved her. Daniel is all kinds of steely eye’d stubborn/determined alpha male. He readily acknowledges the dark side of his life, but is a loyal and protective as they come.

Their journey to their HEA is, for lack of a better word, unique. From the time they collide the chemistry is palpable and though there are many, MANY ups and downs, it’s obvious that if they dive deep into each other they will find all that they never knew was possible. But with Daniel focused on finding his sisters killer and Mac dealing with her own demons, they have an extremely rocky road to travel and once they reach the end, they have some hard decisions to make on just what their futures will look like.

This was a great read! The writing was fabulous and I really liked how Mac’s past was brought out into the light. There are triggers, so reader beware, but everything that happens has a purpose in one way or another. I loved catching up with Bronson and Georgia and loved Steve and Annalee and Mammy and Angela were amazing. And there appears to be another book set in this world coming at some point and I cannot wait to see where that one takes us!
