Oooowweee. This baby is all kinds of intense, you know that kind of intense that keeps you turning the pages because you need to see what will happen next ~ hoping for one thing, but dreading the alternative? Yup, that’s this baby. And woven in is a beautiful story of two bruised souls fighting to survive who collide because of an adorable little girl and find that maybe they don’t have to fight alone anymore.
I adored Kingston and Sawyer from the start. Both are stuck in horrible situations and are doing all they can to take care of those that they love. I loved King’s kindness and Sawyer’s fire. The attraction between them is undeniable, but I loved how they saw who each other was beneath the surface and found solace in it. And then there is Hadley. This little girl is all kinds of amazing and adorable and I loved how she not only brought Kingston & Sawyer together, but brought out the best in both of them.
This was a great read. The pacing was good and the writing seamless and the twists were done quite well. There are triggers, but they are a necessary part to the story and who the characters are. And speaking of the characters. There are some that I loved and some I loved to hate, there really wasn’t much gray area, well, maybe with one or two, but that’s also what made it a great book and I definitely wouldn’t mind if more books would take place in this world just so I can get updates on Kingston, Sawyer & Hadley and everyone else (even the baddies).
