I love the Plain Daisy Ranch crew, but OMG…they ~ well, not ALL of them ~ get a little OTT in this one, and kinda drove me batshitcrazy, but it was hard (ok, not so hard, but you get it) to not keep turning those pages to see how everything would turn out with them and lemme tell, it was all worth it.
Emmett and Briar. I have to admit that Emmett was not a fav going into this book, I know some love the cocky jokester, I’m not one of them, but considering what the family has gone through and the dynamic with his brothers, I figured there was more to him and thankfully there was. I liked getting to see the man beneath the facade, he’s sweet, caring and loyal to those he loves. Briar, for all that she was dealing with, was fierce. Sweet, stubborn but there was also an honesty to her reactions to all that was going on around her. Their journey to their HEA was not easy, but I enjoyed how they worked through their various issues ~ with each other and with their loving, yet OTT family members ~ and found that they were each other*s person. Also, I will say that after finding out what the issue Briar had with Emmett was, I was team Briar ~ totally ~ but I do like how that situation was worked out.
This is a great addition to the series. I thoroughly enjoyed catching up with extensive Noughton family and seeing how those who were all coupled up were doing and getting to hang out with the cousins and learning more about them. There are a few situations that may be sensitive to some readers, but they are handled well. As for that epilogue…well, let’s just say I’m totally looking forward to seeing how that whole situation plays out in the next book!
